Problems with the E-Mails

Currently there is the problem that our server is unable to transmit E-Mails.

The registration for the game and the board is a little harder due this fact. As long as this problem is not fixed the accounts have to be enabled by hand. This will happen as fast as possible.

We ask for appreciation for this necessary delay.

Moving the server

As we already announced, the server will be moved from the Technical University of Vienna/Austria to a professional hoster in Munich/Germany (Greatnet).
This will happen today at about 1 pm (CEST). The server will probably be online again on saturday.

About the last server-offs

The current location of our server will be discontinued probably. Therefore the server was temporary not reachable, maybe even in future.

For an unspecified time we will be able to maintain the service restricted. Nevertheless we have to utilize the time for searching for an alternative offer for housing our (hardware-) server. If someone else wants to keep one's ears open respectively finds an offer can tell that in the following thread: http://illarion.org/community/forums/viewtopic.php?p=441086#441086

Here are some details of our server:
19'', one unit heigh, 500W power supply unit (PSU)
60 GB/month traffic at least
1 MBit/s connection (250 MBit/s at the moment)
Since yet the placement and the connection was free. At a professional housing-supplier there will be charges every month that have to be anted up.

Recent update

Some of you have probably noticed already: We made an update. We updated both the server and the client because the largest part of our work was to completely redesign the communication protocol (the "language" between server and client). This makes everything much more flexible (from a technical point of view) and stable, and we can easily extend the funcionality of both server and client. Moreover, there should be fewer lags and crashes now.

Furthermore, we corrected several bugs in server and client which should lead to a more stable environment in general (we hope to have killed the bug that led to server freezes). These bug removals also brought us into a position where we were able to introduce a completely new crafting system. This means that you will need a lot more resources and time to produce items (this also means that time plays a role in production!). Also, gathering resources will not require as many mouse clicks as before.

Therefore we consider it fair to remove most stockpiled weapons and armor parts to have some work for smiths and to give established players not too much advantage against newer players. To do that, we proceed as follows: All weapons and armors in depots will be deleted, those that you have in your backpack will be reduced in quality and those you wear directly on your body remain as they are.

Beyond that, we implemented a lot of small additions and improvements which you'll all notice soon and which, as we hope, will increase your fun in game.
