I also once attempted to play a dwarf in Silverbrand in the not to distant past. This was extremely difficult when 90% of the dwarves didn't/woulden't speak English to me. Perhaps if I had known when the ones that did speak English were on I might have had a more active dwarf. But would there have ...

The problem with an online indication of language would be that people would not log in unless the percentage of language X was in their favour. This actually creates the problem of too few players of language X online. We already have people who look at the online list and won't log on unless certa...

Ok I'm not in a place to give advice but that's never stopped me before: I'd add to 2: understand that somebody RP'ing differently than you're accustomed to does not make it rubbish. Discuss with them in PMs or polite threads what you liked and what you were unsure of. To 6: The players need to show...

Thanks for all the feed back. Just to clear up a couple of points though: It was entirely my fault for leaving my char for a couple of minutes, mea culpa  . I don't care that my char died only that there was no RP. There was no chance an NPC wandered into my location, killed me and then wander...

I know my bladder is not what it once was but I couldn't have been AFK for more than 2 minutes. Having said that, even if it was an overzealous GM I would have expected some RP behind my Orcs demise. Or if it was seen as a breaking of the rules some message to that effect. Still what's done is done....

:) I knew there was a reason for the regularity of freezes. It was definately a PC because of where I was. You are right in that it was my fault, but I'm just sorry I missed a chance to RP. I'll be honest and say my roleplay is...not great, and I savour every opportunity to try some. The best chance...

to the Orc slayer at the mummy house.
Parked my Orc up in a place where I thought it was safe so I could have a P'break. Obviously not safe enough as when I came back my Orc was now a ghost. Annoyed? Yes a little. Shocked? Yes a little. But the bit that realy pissed me off was there was no RP at all. Not one #me. You could have at least...

The problem with trying to rely on others for your supply is that not enough people are online. Of those that are online, most don't want to be distracted by people asking them to sell them things all the time, and the ones that do sell tend to have really high prices since no one else sells the thi...

there are a lot of nervous people ingame. I think it's a great idea. I also think that just before the wipe, the way things are done ingame should be changed radically. So that NO ONE will have the slightest idea how to mine, cast spells, farm or make anything. This way we can have an honest debate ...

Try asking around. Don't take the fact that some people won't or can't help you as a personal snub. Some people's characters are evil and so being nice to newcomers is OOC. Some people who have played the game for a long time have not found out how to do things the new way yet either. Keep asking ar...

The jailing of criminals is not the problem. Correct. The ability of the town guards to jail is not a problem. Correct. Therefore it must be the way the jailing is done that constitutes the problem. Not entirely correct. Part of the problem is that the guards can magically transport criminals to ja...

What about either RPing handing over weapons or just handing over one set, basic weapon, wooden shield, leathers. This would be on the OOC understanding that you couldn't then just put on another set and start all over again. Some people have got rare weapons and armour and I know I would not be hap...
