Story of the character

Aloraine does not remember being born, and the elves who might have remembered are long gone. The oldest record bearing her name is a marginal note in a scholar’s ledger from an age whose kingdoms are now only hills: “The pale one in the reading room corrected my arithmetic again. I have stopped minding.” She has outlived the ledger’s author, his kingdom, and the language he wrote in.
