Character profileAndokai Corthol
Currently offline Description of the characterven from a distance, Andokai stands out due to his unusual height. At just over two paces tall, he towers noticeably over most elves. His build is slender, marked by an almost straight, refined elegance. He moves slowly and deliberately, without ever appearing sluggish. Even in the simplest of movements, there is a certain thoughtfulness to him, as though he does nothing without first consciously deciding to do so. His skin is remarkably pale, forming a stark contrast to his otherwise dark appearance. Long, white hair falls well past his shoulders and down his back. It appears well cared for, though never excessively styled. A few longer strands occasionally fall across his face, seemingly without bothering him enough to brush them away. His features are fine and pronounced. High cheekbones, a straight nose, and narrow lips, usually held closed, give him a stern and almost inaccessible appearance. His face reveals little emotion. A smile is rarely seen, as are signs of anger or surprise. His eyes are particularly striking. Dark and quiet, they rest beneath pale brows, seemingly taking in everything around him. His gaze is not necessarily intimidating, yet he often lingers on things or people for longer than might feel entirely comfortable. It gives the impression that Andokai observes without revealing anything of himself in return. His clothing reinforces this impression. He wears a long, dark robe, its heavy fabric reaching almost to the ground. Several layers of cloth move only slightly with each step, lending him an air of quiet dignity. The robe is predominantly black and deep grey, with subtle patterns woven into the fabric. Upon closer inspection, some of the decorations reveal themselves as extremely fine embroidery, tracing delicate, flowing lines along the sleeves, collar, and hem. Beneath the outer robe, he wears a simple, high-collared garment. The collar rests closely against his neck and is fastened by a small, dark clasp. A narrow cloth belt rests around his waist, carrying neither pouches nor unnecessary adornments. His forearms are usually hidden beneath the wide sleeves of his robe. His hands, in turn, are covered by dark, close-fitting gloves. The material appears soft and finely made, while delicate seams run across the backs of his hands, almost resembling ornamental lines. Andokai appears to have little interest in jewelry. He wears neither conspicuous rings nor chains that would immediately draw attention. If there is any ornamentation at all, it consists only of the occasional small detail whose meaning is not readily apparent. There is, however, one item that is seemingly always part of his appearance: a long walking staff. The wood is deep black, its surface unusually smooth. Fine runes and curved markings run along its entire length, some so dark that they only become visible upon closer inspection. Several dark gemstones are set into the wood, almost seeming to merge with it. At times, it appears as though a very faint light lies beneath the surface of the staff. A barely perceptible glow travels through some of the runes, only to vanish again moments later. Whether it is magic, a reflection, or simply a peculiarity of the material is impossible to tell. The handle of the staff is intricately crafted. Dark wood winds around a single, larger gemstone, which protrudes from its setting like a black eye. Every now and then, a dull shimmer seems to move within it. Andokai himself pays no attention to such things. His clothing is always neat, his hair well kept, and his entire demeanor marked by quiet discipline. Dust, dirt, or wrinkled clothing rarely seem to cling to him. Even after a long journey, he gives the impression of someone who has only just left his chambers. His voice is calm and somewhat deep. He speaks without haste, occasionally allowing brief pauses to settle between his words. His choice of words is deliberate without being unnecessarily elaborate. His gestures are equally restrained. A slight tilt of the head or the smallest movement of his hand is usually enough to make his intentions clear. There is an unusual seriousness to his entire presence. Not the overt sternness of a guard, nor the intimidating presence of a warrior. Rather, it resembles the quiet attentiveness of someone who prefers to observe rather than place himself at the center of attention. Andokai seems like someone who rarely overlooks anything. Perhaps it is his quiet gaze. Whatever it may be, those in his presence may find themselves with the peculiar feeling that even the quietest things do not escape his attention. And when his dark eyes finally settle upon someone, there is often only one question left: How long has he been watching? | ||||||||||
