Character profileNetzach Nitzachon
Currently offline Description of the characterDescended from aristocracy, he is an animal wrangler of Serinjah ancestry. Story of the characterNetzach Nitzachon grew up on stories of ancestors who had advised kings, commanded armies, and built halls of white stone. By his birth, those halls were ruins, the family's lands long sold away, and their noble title little more than a surname few recognized. At eighteen, he left home to earn his living as an animal wrangler. He guided caravans with mules, soothed nervous horses, retrieved escaped sheep, and cared for hunting hounds whose owners never imagined they were taking orders from the descendant of an ancient house. His hands became rough, his boots worn, and his pride quieter. One autumn, while delivering falcons to the royal palace, Nitzachon passed beneath portraits of forgotten nobles. Among them hung Illarion Serinjah, stern-eyed and draped in embroidered velvet. Nitzachon paused only a moment before continuing to the kennels, where a stablemaster was waiting for him. The hounds still needed feeding. As he worked, he realized that names could outlive fortunes, but character had to be earned anew. Whatever honor the Serinjahs once possessed would not return through blood alone, but through the life he chose to live. When he departed the palace at dusk, no herald announced him and no courtier noticed him leave. That no longer troubled him. | ||||||||||
