Character profileBalyndar Feuermut
Currently offline Description of the characteralyndar is a dwarf whose appearance is hardly suited to going unnoticed. Despite his relatively modest height of around one and a half paces, he appears remarkably strong. Broad shoulders, muscular arms, and a stocky build give him the appearance of a dwarf who not only possesses strength, but knows how to put it to use. At the same time, he moves with surprising speed and confidence for someone of his stature, with a dexterity that one would probably not expect at first glance. His bald head forms a striking contrast to the long brown beard that reaches well across his chest. It is obviously more than mere facial hair. Carefully groomed, divided into individual sections and held together with small clasps, it tapers into neat points. Balyndar wears it with the confidence and pride of a dwarf for whom it is just as much a part of his appearance as his broad shoulders. Yet it is his eyes that are the most unusual. One shines with a warm amber hue, while the other is a clear, almost icy light blue. The peculiar contrast makes his gaze striking and difficult to forget. Especially when Balyndar studies someone, there is almost the impression that fire and ice are watching over his face for a brief moment. His clothing changes between sturdy leather garments and heavy warrior's armor, depending on what circumstances demand. Much of it appears practical and built to withstand punishment. He does not yet wear the equipment of a dwarf who already possesses everything he desires. Nevertheless, he can occasionally be seen with a heavy two-handed weapon at his side, its weight seeming to trouble him far less than it might others. Balyndar himself is much like his appearance: direct. He has an open, confident manner and rarely makes a secret of what he thinks. His words come quickly, sometimes faster than the thought that should have preceded them. His tongue is sharp, his remarks are often a little cheeky, and he can hardly hide a certain enjoyment in teasing others or drawing them out of their comfort zone. Personal boundaries are something he seems to regard as things that first need to be discovered before deciding whether they truly deserve to remain in place. Yet behind the loud and self-assured exterior lies considerably more warmth than his first impression would suggest. Balyndar is companionable, helpful, and reluctant to leave a comrade behind. Those who do not take his rough manner personally will likely discover quite quickly that behind the loud mouth is a dwarf whose word and support can be relied upon. His pride is unmistakable. So is his temper. There is something untamed in his eyes, something almost glowing – the kind of fire that provides warmth as long as it is kept under control, yet can just as quickly turn into a raging flame when challenged. Balyndar does not seem to fear that fire. Quite the opposite: he carries it with visible confidence. Perhaps that is the most fitting description of this young dwarf. Not yet worn down by the years, not yet tempered by experience – but a piece of living fire searching for its own path, occasionally forgetting that not every door was meant to be opened with his shoulder. | ||||||||||
