If you are unhappy about the roleplay of anyone, mage or otherwise, don't bitch about it, report it. Then if the GM's feel it is a problem they will go about fixing it.

Indeed, Alchemy is also extremely hard, but personally I don't have an issue with this. What annoys me however is bucket and bottle loss. When you fail to make wine for example, a bottle just disappears. If I were to fail making wine in RL I would merely pour out the sour wine and retain the bottle....
