Questions regarding unarmed combat

I noticed that damage has increased by a bit (it only takes approx 45 seconds for a mummy)

1) Is it a skill?
2) Are there any benefits apart from not needing to carry around a weapon?

Yeah, little benefit from fist fighting. Blades are better, so are hammers. Stick with 'em.

Does unarmed fighting still depend on the concussion skill?

Just to clarify if that is what you mean by it not being a skill.

Yes. Concussion skill is raised by fist fighting, and no, fist fighting doesn't have it's own skill set.

The last time I saw this skill it was named:
"Unarmed Combat"
And I was totaly suprised about the genuine name creation.

And because its such a general name, everybody can make up a unique unarmed fighting style for his character, that of course should be accompanied by zillions of pre-written #me's.
You can display your character fighting as a pure boxer to some kind of elvish-martial-arts.

Thats for the real style-noobs.

I'm gonna go in game to check this thing out.

Anybody ever play Doom 3 against some guy, then challenge him to a bare fist brawl, only so he can whip out his rocket launcher when he's dying?

Yeah. I have a feeling Illarion will be a little bit more fun now.
