i worked the whole year, the crop pays our fare.
The winters are cold, i sleep by the ovens,

The springtime has passed,
we laugh in the clover, and it will not be my last.
Though i will be old, the summer is this time,

Many men feed i and none has remained,
i made many a living and nothing was gained,
