It has genders (and much more complex than in english as the articles are not just "the" but varie from gender to gender and where you use it (nominative, genitive, dative or accusative case:
Nom: "Der Mann", "Die Frau", "Das Kind" (the man, the woman, the child)
Gen: "Des Mannes", "Der Frau", "Des Kindes"
Dat: "Dem Mann", "Der Frau", "Dem Kind",
Akk: "Den Mann", "Die Frau", "Das Kind").
And to illustrate the Problem of grammar and synthax, I'll show you what your sentence means when translated word by word:
"Lernen Woerter tut nicht helfen viel wenn du nicht tust wissen wo zu stellen diese in dem Satz, Konjugation, nicht sicher wenn Deutsch hat Geschlechter oder nicht, etc."
It should be:
"Woerter lernen hilft nicht, wenn du nicht weisst, wohin im Satz sie zu stellen sind, (Konjugationen (don't know what you wanted to tell us here)), ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob es im Deutschen grammatikalische Geschlechter gibt etc."
The first sentence would not be very understandable.
