"Hmm an elf you say?" said Dyluck as he leaned forward and put his cup back onto the table.
A servant came from behind and refilled all the cups. Dyluck eased back into the armchair. "You see, there were many people including elves that came during the last few days to finish some business before the Academy doors closed yesterday, so you'll have to be a little more specific. What was his name?"
He put his elbows on the armrest and put his hands together. "Oh and it seems you did quite well in the Hall of Trials. Though you had a small stroke of luck that the final room was malfunctioning and needed repairs," he grinned.

"Valenas. Yes, Valenas was his name, I believe," Viola said as she plopped some sugar into her tea. "He seemed to think it was of an urgent matter to see you."
After a moment, Dyluck's words sunk in. "You mean you sent us into the Hall knowing it was malfunctioning?" Vivi smirked and rolled her eyes when Dyluck was not looking.

"I'm sure you would have been able to pass the final room if you had to," Dyluck grinned.
"Valenas, is it?" He crossed his arms and appeared to be thinking. "No, I haven't met anyone by that name, during the last few days." The others looked surprised.
"Perhaps he did not survive the journey up the Lofty Mountains". He said, as the looks of surprise turned to shock. "You say he walked with a limp? It must have been very difficult to walk such a long distance uphill, and along with the new man-eating plants that have infested the mountains, it would have been dangerous even for a normal person. That's why the Magic Academy is now closed, and travellers are warned not to venture up the Lofty Mountains. I'm afraid there's a good chance your friend didn't make it."

"Hm" Bumbol says. "Quite odd, us hobbits made it up here and we aren't really any type of warriors. And the elf's leg wasn't that bad, least he said he didn't need to rest for it. So I must assume that he was in fair health. And an elf is a much better warrior then us hobbits... And that man eating plant wasn't that dangerous since us hobbits managed to live through it..."
Bumbol bites into a roll and says "How did your last test break?"

Dylucks visits home had been rare and short. Sabrina begun to wonder if it was the birth of his son that had scared him off, or perhaps her. She hardly left the house these days aside to speak from time to time with Muten and other friends to feed her starving social platter.
"You propose then leave." she said to herself staring into the fire. Adicus, thier was was laying with his head propped up on his palms reading one of the many books Dyluck had strewn about. being home so often Sabrina had insisted on his studies and teaching.
He thoughts were losted between need and bitterness. Things wern't suppose to be this way. She had half a mind to go to that academy herself and confront him. Why she hadn't done so yet was simply hope he would come on his own. It was a hope that had faded from her memory already. All she had from him was a promise.
"Who are you Dyluck? Do you know? Have you remembered?" She wondered if his past had return and perhaps that was his reason for abondoning, but his only son as well? Many had been angered and saddened knowing he had hardly seen his son since birth.
He even called Dax daddy once the smiled as she remembered. poor old mercenary had turned white and stayed away for a week. It had been simple need for Dax to be around. A simple earthly desire for companionship and affection.
If Dyluck ever found out there was no telling how he would take it... but being as he was, unless someone went all the way to tell him.. and only few knew.
She sat watching her son slowly gathering the will to confront her lost husband to be.
