ummm.... elaralith, when you get disconnected you stand there for about 10-20 seconds before your sprite dissapears... i have the obsolute worst modem ever created, i get disconnnected every 30 or so minutes, ask most of my friends, i always stand around for about 20 or so seconds and dont say anything then dissapear without warning.

Same thing with me, my comp sux, i get booted for no reason lots of times too, the little blue screen that explains whats wrong shows up and my comp freezes or crashes, when this happen your sprite is STILL there for about 20 or so seconds. So there goes all your reasons

And kzarak, i think there are lots of people making up lies together against elaralith, or atleast trying to make her kill them so she gets in trouble. And when she does kill them they will most likely leave out the real reason why she did it.

and you people need to understand, the main reason elaralith does all this is because almost everyone hates her, she just didnt one day turn mean, she makes a few mean comments, then she realizaes what she did, but some of you are stubborn and dont care that she realizes and had stopped so you keep complaining about her and tell others what she did, and it spreads then everyone starts to get on her, what do you expect her to do when this happens?? smile and make cupcakes??

And why is elaralith the only being talked about who sets fires to the castle, lots of other people bother the castle, lots of people fight the ogres without this "permission" i hear that you need.

I for one am not complaining about anyone setting fires to the castle.

**cheers**

Go Elaralith!! Burn it to the ground.

And I am tired of people saying that stones cannot burn. Magical fire is not like regular fire. Magical fire could burn just about anything.

Says anybody. It's called fantasy and magic things happen that don't happen in real life.

A lot of the fantasy books I read speak of a dragon's breath being able to burn solid stone.

This can actually happen in real life. Look at a volcano. The lava is nothing more than melted rock.

why do you have to keep setting fire to the castle... its getting incredibly annoying, its gonna get built eventually, might as well just let it happen.

and i agree with caranthir

where does it say that "magical flames" can burn anything. If its RP then its kind of force RP going up there each day and putting some flames up and saying they are magical flames and now there is no castle

Are dragons breath and volcano somehow relevant when discussing about the abilities of magical fire? Why should magical fire posess any special abilities, isn't it treat enough that you are able to make a huge bonfire without the need of tinderbox in very short amount of time?

Just because something is magical, it does not mean that it is immediatly great, superior and able to something absolutely magnificent. Take applejuice for instance, natural is better than essancé. (sp?)

It is poorly roleplayed when people set fire to the castle. They do it when none of the guards, myself included, it logged on so of course they will not have to worry about been attacked during it. If they want to start burning the castle they need to contact me, I will contact all the other guards and we will negotiate a time to be online at the same time. Then us guards will do our rounds around the castle, slowly and then we will see if these firestarters can really "sneak past us quietly". I think it is a very dumb thing to do, and I believe Kieken Hiru said it is bad roleplayed in the RPG board. Most of these people give themselves a huge advantage and think that their character has the best stealth/magic/strength/tracking skills/covering of tracking skill/assisination skills/everyskill in the world. And the guards are just mindless being's always asleep or not around. And yet when I log on (which is most of the day in America) I am at the castle sitting around, talking to the ogres (yes I pretend they talk back) occasionally I go to the Bloodskull cave for fresh potions, but I am always at the castle and No one else is. I went really off topic I think here...

Summary: If you want to do damage to the castle, inform me, I will inform the guards. We will set a time to all be online at the same time, then we will see if your attempts really are as stealthy and successful as you say they are on the RPG forum.

I guess this is for IC reasons. My character does not like forced slavery. OOC I could really care less if it is built or not.

You could call ANYTHING force RP. I could call the drought forced RP if I wanted to. If a thief steals some ingots from me I could call that forced RP. But I don't and it is not against the rules in anyway.

I was just showing that it could be possible for fire to burn stones in a fantasy world.

hmm, lets see........maybe because it's MAGIC.

Nevertheless, its still fire.
I am all for magic, as long as we keep in some reasonable limits i.e. even magical flames still act as normal fire. Unless naturally, the caster of the spell was 'exceptionally' (aka out of player reach) strong magician.

I would personally want to view magic as something mystical, not just plain instrument to kill and cause unneeded abnormalities which cannot be explained otherwise, this being one of them.

Build a battering ram or something - it should do it and look less ridiculous.

I find this ancient computer 56k thing quite hard to beleive. There are at least 10 people surrounding you, you attack darlok while he is moving, at this point I was lagging and i have cable(256-300k). Plus you were using two shields. I cannot prove anything but, seems a bit farfetched.

Yes I know about that. And yes I am sorry, but RL (in my life at least) takes precendence over a game. And at that time I was unexpectedly called away.

Deal with it.

Elaralith, I see you want your character to become something of a vigilante. So, I will tell you about killings. Don't attempt/do a killing when you know you won't be able to roleplay it for at least a half hour. Even if you escape the people chasing you and are safely away, you can't log out otherwise they will say you were behind a building and logged out. Just a few words of advance to you.

elaralith... if you have dial up modem then you cant recieve phone calls, unless you have a call waiting one like i do, inwhich you STILL get disconnected as normal, your sprite will still be there. Now if you have 2 phone lines or a cell phone then couldnt have you just said "((be right phone call))

@Salathe It is called having double lines.

Oh, and I have NEVER said I have to go because of "a phone call". Thanks for making something up.

Regardless Elaralith, you still must claim responsibility for these lack of good roleplaying manners. If you know you have a crappy computer that logs you out every half hour or so, then you probably shouldn't be insulting and going on killing sprees.

You know what's strange? She never gets "kicked off" during the killing sprees. It's always afterwards when people confront her.

I got dial up and its alive. Its a living dialing, kilabiter it knows when im enjoying something, or having fun, or talking with a friend, or something good is going down in Illarion then it goes mad...
Hungry to disconect at every possible moment, it lusts for the automatic repeated dial tone, it can get enough lagg, its bitch to the lag mistress and lovers her slow repeated lashing of the lagger whip. Its a filthy modem with no manners or shame. I mean at 56k its old enough to know better.

NO, that shouldn't be allowed. noone is able to summon such a spell. as drathe have said his connection slows down in many moments, but elaralith connection is very fine until she is under pressure of many strong epoples. her connection is well everytime she spoke many flames, spells and something else. but it is bad and disconncect at THAT moment when everyone stands around her and want her to be punished? very funny. the next time elaralith want to kill me my connection will be bad too. haha. or perhaps i jumb in a hidden hole at the wall? or something else?

I'm not in the game yet ,but I should be soon. Now whenever this happened in other rpgs there was one solution. A character (prefferbly mage) if he/she finds the person what he would do is cast an immensly strong spell and just kill him/her before he/she knew what hit him. Now I have read the rules and I know theres no sure way to know the exact power of a spell, but why don't you just try and kill her before she logs out. Form a fighting tactic. For example 2 people go infront of her before the attack begins. One person goes to the right ,and the other to the left. 2 more people are at the bottom waiting for the leader to give the order. The leader confronts her directly and gives a signal to attack. Then everyone swoops in at her going straight to the middle. Mages launching spells, warriors charging with axes, archers shooting arrowings, and the leader trying to kill her. So try to tactically beat her/him instead of just rushing towards her/him.

BTW I know I just gave away a very good idea but oh well.

the mage would be gone by the time they had him surrounded. Of course if you had the mage surrounded then it would work, but it would be almost impossible to set it up.

Not to mention the mage could easily pick off 1 or two people before they could surrender him/her then the people would have holes in their circle.
