Special for druids
What if we make that druids also has some special attack abilities so they are equal to a mage. lets say that they can make simple gunpowder in bottles and use them as weapons by tossing it at their enemies and it explode. Gunpowder did exist basck then in china for a long time so I'm not saying lets start modern weapons. Gunpowder existed for hundreds of years withought ever creating a cannon.

I think that more people become Druids, because their characters are peaceful, or they put all their stats into fighting. The gunpowder idea isnt great, because first of all, we arent in china. Plus druids are suppose to use herbs and be in touch with nature, so its more likley that a druid turn into an animal or make poison than anything.

I've always wondered, where exactly IS Illarion? And I can't remember who, but someone said on one of the boards, that coal was not in Europe at the time period Illarion is supposed to be in. It came from China by Marco Polo. Not sure, don't really care, but if that's the case why couldn't Marco just bring the recipe for gunpowder with him? I think it would be fun blowing up things, but I believe druids are supposed to be peaceful. Maybe the answer would be to make a stronger poison, one that could kill. Since people drink so much, maybe they could build up a tolerance

No i mean like fire in a bottle you mix some herbs put in some coal and there ya go fire in a bottle. all you have to do is throw it and when the bottle hits the ground poof fire.
Or you could have it come out of the hands like in the book. So all druids would have that technique but as they get stronger so does the attack

That kind of reminds me of a molotow cocktail.Aradhul Rythwier wrote:No i mean like fire in a bottle you mix some herbs put in some coal and there ya go fire in a bottle. all you have to do is throw it and when the bottle hits the ground poof fire.

But then, most warriors are druids, because they need the attribute points
for strength or constitution. Because a druid doesn't require any special
attribute like mages do with intelliegence most warriors would probably
be druids. And I would'nt go as far as to say, that I think a lot of warriors
could really stay absolutly peaceful all the time.
Further I propose, even if this may a bit off-topic, that druid-magic should
require intelligence, or maybe perception (as far as I understood this, it's
supposed to be, how good you can spot things...).
Druids work with herbs, and need to understand why and how the herbs
react together to a potion -> intelliegence.
Druids have to know where to find herbs or/and have to spot rare one's
-> perception
@Trice Ohh I like that...intelligence needed for druids and perception too...that would prevent the horrible warrior also secretly "druid" for money kind of character we have so much of now...
To bring this a bit further...
For mages: Perception-for the chance of miss of spells-> the higher your perception the more accurate spells are...

Druids will be able to defend themselves using their ability to calm animals.
This is NO multiplayer hack'n'slay where all classes need to be perfectly balanced out to have equal chances.
Each character class has special abilities for special situations, and hence it is only natural that there are advantages and disadvantages.
On another note, I'm not even sure if preset classes are really that good. It is another example of these technical restrictions which I don't like. A number of individual skills which depend on differrent attributes to more or less efficient combinations are better in my opinion.

Yes, true, but if you don't preset, it would be rather hard to make...
How does the programm notice, if you want to be a warlock, a warrior,
a mage, a bard...especially mage and warlock is the problem...both
can do somehow the same magic...so how does the programm notice,
which is which? (this is, of course, for the far future).
Then, druids are supposed to be, like already mentioned, peaceful people,
since they are connected to nature and life. So it would only be "realistic"
if they wouldn't fight too much. For the worst cases, they could maybe still
be able to call wild animals (bear/wolf for instance; this, too, for a probably
far away future)
