Notes from the lesson Current Arcane Magick:

Arcane magic stems from the use of elements, wands, and more!
Each type of wand is created using one of the 5 pure elements found here in illarion: Earth, Water, Fire, Spirit, Air.
Other magic rituals when cast make use of the elements as a source of mana.
If you wanted to cast a flame spell, surely you would need pure fires as a source of mana.
Pure elements are a good choice for a source of mana. Also they should be used when creating special crafted items.
The elemental wands have different effects in battle, and each has the ability to use rituals. For example one ritual is used to cast a glyph forging area.

Glyph Forging is a process of Enchanting Jewellery.
Sacred Glyph Shards are found all over illarion. Mainly during gathering. Mining, Carpentry, and Farming are all good trades to find sacred glyph shards.
Each shard has two names combine as one. For example, an Anemogwynt can be split into its seperate names Anemo, and Gwynt.
Enchanting a piece of jewellery takes seven different shards of one name type. For example: AnemoGwynt, AnemoTan, AnemoIlyn... and the remaining four.
After equipping an Enchanted Jewellery piece, it takes two dwarven minutes to warm up before use. Each piece has an amount of charges. The glyph discharges at random using one charge and then producing the given effect.
Know that each different kind of gem is a different effect. So a ruby amulet or ring produces fire effects when the glyph is discharged.

The essence of Arcane magic is the use of runes. Which can be engraved into crafts or drawn in magic circles.
A common magic circle used to ward all other spells is the pentagram. A circle with a five point star. Also it is well know the seven pointed star is an elfish sign.
Another common practice of magic is using ones self as a vessel, for higher powers to intervene.
One has to be careful using this type of magic, for it can lead to possession if not used correctly or with demonic intentions.
When used correctly the devine can make what you think and desire the possible.
Arcane Magic has become a great force here in illarion and it is only the begining, as new powers and techniques are revealed.

Welcome all new members to the Illuminates of Ethereal Magic! I think you will find what you seek within our group here. Any mages needing wands can talk with Caswir Drakull.

Some projects we are working on, included ridding a man of a demon possession. We are taking careful precautions through the whole session. My hopes is we can help this man, and see retribution.

Some thoughts are that there are some demons running rampant in these lands. The more we study and understand these beings the greater the good.

Some studies of runes take place by members of the guild and myself, to further the knowledge of the arcane.

The mana flows now fluently through the lands of Illarion, may we rejoice and celebrate this great miracle to use for the greater good of the land.

Caswir has been trying to spread the truth about the pillars and portals. Their presence disrupts the nature at the gates of Runewick. Caswir is sure of it, he was there the day the Bearers set down pure fires and started the ritual place. The column's were built up from the ground afterwards. Letters spelling out "D H A L" was written on the four pillars that stood there. Soon after a chaotic MAS some of the obelisks were destroyed. Leaving only the red portals and one pillar.

Is it a coincidence, the Bearers are no where to be found?

Does Dhal have any connection to Erdhal, the wizard or dragon? I dont know.

Not everything is "Related to Letma" or so as the Cadomyrians say. Caswir believes the source of the pillars the demon Dhal part of the three Preacerdhal. Built directly by the Bearers!

Though he is relieved soon they will be destroyed and Runewick can move forward.

He leaves it there at the shore by the harbor house.

I need something better... A new weapon I should forge. He takes up an old excellent Partisan of Light.

This could do with some improvement. I should look for pure spirits since I am low. Meanwhile this old one will do.

Not many who know will understand the truth of the Berserker. The special class of warrior, using their pure might and reckless rage of a bear or wolf. Many times they are seen in battle without armor and shield. Some may carry a weapon or use their bare hands. In the past Ive seen them with my own eyes.

Why do berserkers go into battle without armor or shield in a frenzy, and how can they survive unscathed? Yet they do. It could be used as a technique to confuse the enemy forces or catch them off guard. Perhaps there is more? Some sort of magic powers learned over time?

What gives a berserker its power? Is it a curse from the hallucinogenic mushrooms?

No one really knows for sure...from my own studies, the mushrooms can give one power or it can give knowledge. They are taken to open ones mind, like the shamans who have taken them, to induce visions, and to unlock ancient earthly wisdom. Many who do eat the fruit of the world tree, do in fact inherit an affiliation to its wild rigor.

This weapon was forged with meteor iron. I remember the day the meteors fell from the sky during MAS some years ago. It was quite unfortunate what happen to me that day during MAS. I remember being at Cadomyr. The meteorites were everywhere and there was some strange looking herb. When others began to pick up the meteors, I quickly rushed to pick some up. I acted with haste, and took some meteors, also incidently I picked up the herb as well. It had some strange effect on me. A knight of Cadomyr was examining the herb beforehand. He demanded I give him the herb and well I ended up getting chased down by a mob, and forced to give the glowing herb back. Still to this day I question what happened to that herb, or if it was used in a special potion.

Now, I recently purchased a Meteoric Iron Flamberge! A weapon forged with meteor iron! It is amazing to think that this weapon is forged with otherworld iron that fell from the sky.

"Interesting how the world gives back to ones self. This Meteoric Sword will be a great tool used to slay demonic and otherworld creatures. Tialdin shed a tear while letting it go to me.. It must have had special meaning to him as well."

Chaos as mana became available throughout the land. Change as the shards appeared transmuting power spells.

Demonic "Dark Obsidian" Stone at the gate of Runewick
I looked into the stone and saw a vision I couldnt believe. I was slain at the end of the vision. This bogus rock!

Others claim to have seen Erdhal using red cloud extract in a vision with one rock. Obviously ment to confuse and envoke emotions in people.

This is a demonic mirror rock! I will destroy it, it is personal.

The waters near the Harbor House have been cleared of poison, and also the waters of Runewick. Big thanks to the Druids of Eternal Grove and Deanna for that. I believe it was done with a two ingrediant potions to nullify the poison effects.

The Obsidian stones. now they could be more than a demonic apparation. The stone refeclts like a mirror would.
We shouldnt be confused, these Obsidian stones with potent magic and inducing visions are not natural. MAS is coming around in three months, it will be a whole year since the stones appeared. We should be prepared for anything, this years days of blood. Some research was being done on compiling the visions.

The Obsidian Rock at Runewick is destroyed with four persons using pickaxes. First two potions of mana drain are used on the stone to weaken any mana it has. Next the miners go to work. With fire exploding from the rock. A relentless attack is used, just like with the pillars. Four red portals spring up as the evil obsidian rock is shattered into hot shards.

I ask the question what could cause three volcanic stones at the gates of our town??

Runewick does well this MAS. But I ask another question, where have the mobs of creatures gone?

A time of PEACE in illarion?
