Galadria has heard about the horrible murder and now she wants to help the relatives with some good words. In hard times allways nice words are needed. When she arrives the house she sees Drathe standing in front of it knocking at the door, with a smile she says to him

"Greetings Drathe, i see you may have the same idea as me. So lets go together to the poor Hobbit lady to help her in this bad times."

Galadria sighs and knocks at the door too

The halfling speaking with the pretty blond nods her head and walks across the room to put her arm around an ancient looking Halfling man who is asking whose birthday it is. She helps him stand and leads him out of the room.

The blonde sighs quietly and her eyes dart around the room uncomfortably. When her eyes fall upon Cain and Gannon she gives them a slight smile, hoping they would approach so she wouldn’t be left standing alone.

A tall female elf dressed in a gauzy material stands in the corner with Old Man Egill. Though they speak quietly to each other, Grant and Boremier are standing close enough to overhear part of the conversation.

“Aye, Ninde,” the old man says to the elf in a thick accent. “Lyrenzia has been notified, but ‘dey be not knowing who is responsible.” Ninde shakes her head, “And they found Francis on Archet Hill?” The old man nods his head sadly.

At that moment, a knock on the front door is heard. After a moment, noticing no one moving to the door, Ninde leaves the old man’s side. Opening the door, she sees Drathe and Galadria and gestures them inside. “Ah, I think Helen is tending to Maybelle,” she says, assuming the two knows whom she is talking about. “Please come into the sitting room.”

((With Drathe and Gala, we have a party of six and that is plenty for this story. If anyone else wants to participate, pm me for a NPC position.))

First Galadria glances a bit confused at the halfing lady but then smiles and just nods wondering who Helen and Maybelle is.

"Thank you very much good lady, i came to help in this hour of misery as good as i can."

Galadria still smiles a bit confused than takes Drathes arm to go with him in the sitting room

Drathe, listens with a polite but respectful smile as Galadria speaks to the unfamiliar lady. After she finnishes her words the carpenter jestures with a nod that he also is here for the same reason.

Arm in arm with the priestess, he walks into the crowded sitting room, looking quickly to his right before so, to see the parlour room.

Looking around the sitting room, his spirits lift upon seeing Cain, Gannon and Boremier, tho his mind does wonder what Grant the notoriouse misliker of hobbits or 'Peks', as the wood worker rembers the snowy haird man to call them. Drathe nods a greeting and a shallow smile to them all. Then releasing Galadrias arm, stands humbly by the door to climaties to his suroundings.

Gannon starts to tell Cain his awnser but see's Drathe and Galadria out of the corner of his eye and waves to them. Then turns back to Cain and bends close and whisper's

" Pretty strange making a bet about solving a murder first.. But I cant resist. Your on! "

Gannon had noticed the blonde lady when he had waved to Gala and Drathe. So Gannon walks over to the lady and bows in front of her. Then says.

" Hello my name is Gannon. What's yours? "

The young woman smiles as she sees Gannon approaching. "Dora Hunt," she replies as a lock of golden hair escapes from the dark ribbon at the nape of her neck.

Abscently she tucks the annoyance behind her ear. There is a knock at the door again and Helen came and greeting the new arrivals as she had done all afternoon.

"Poor Helen. She's been taking care of everything." Dora watched the lady halfling as she disapeared again. "Maybelle is totally shaken by the boy's death!" Dora continued in whispered voices with Gannon. With her being a widow and all. But the one I'm really worried about is Frances' younger brother." Dora glanced to the ceiling. "I mean the way that boys was...". She stopped and swallowed a lump in her throat.

Drathe and Galadria move into the very full sitting room and see an elderly man in the corner.

Boremier and Grant are approached by the tall elf that the old man called Ninde. She squeezed their hands and said in a soft voice, "I couldn't help but overhear Helen when she said you and your friends were going to help find what happened to Francis. If there is anything you want to know, I'm sure one of us might be able to help you." She glances about the room full of friends and relatives.

Cain glances about at all the people, unsure of whom to speak with first. He approaches the old man whom was talking to the tall female elf and strikes up a conversation in a hushed whisper.

"So, what is your association with the Greely's?"

Cain waits a moment, then realizes a foolish mistake.

"Ah, pardon my rudeness, I have yet to inform you of anything about me. I am Cain Freemont. I came here to assist in the grieving of the late Francis and possibly find the culprit for this atrocious crime."

Cain waits patiently for a response, a slight smile creasing his face, mostly from curiosity and anticipation.

Gannon nods and sigh's. Then says.

" It is very sad. I wish I had been in the area at the time. Remember we we can only help the living thou. Excuse me. Im a bit tired. Im going to see about a room that was mentioned.

Gannon then bids her farewell once more and walks around trying to find Helen. Then after searching a bit finds her then bows to her and says

" Helen if its allright with you im a bit tired and would like to take a short rest in a room that you mentioned. "

As Cain approaches old man Egill, he sees that Galadria has beaten him and is speaking softly to the old man. "Last time I saw Maybelle was just before you all came in. She was headed to the kitchen."

As Galadria moves away from Egill, Cain sees his chance and steps closer. As Cain explains himself the old man shifts his wait. "Well, I'm glad someone is taking interest in finding 'is killer. A Lyrenzia chap, a dwarf, was 'round here asking questions the other day. Said he had just got back from Archet Hill."

The old man pauses, realizing he didn't answer the man's first question. "I'm Egill - lived in the cottage just west of here since Maybelle was this high." The old man dropped his hand toward his knee, his voice like gravel being poured from a bucket.

Sir Gannon wonders out into the the entrance hall. The door to the parlor is cracked open and he can't help but see the silohette of Francis' body laying on a table within. The shutters are drawn tight and the lone candle casts eerie shadows in the room. Helen appears in the hallway and places a hand on Gannon's arm.

After requesting to see his room, Helen nods and smiles. "Of course." She leads Gannon up the stairs to the second floor and opens the second door on the left. The room is furnished with double bunks, a tall chest with a wash basin on top. The linens on the beds are crisp and clean. The far window is open and the sounds of the children playing in the yard below are heard. Helen excuses herself and heads back downstairs.

Grant looks at the tall elf named Ninde as if studying her.

"Hello Miss, I am Grant. Both Boremier and myself are here to find the murderer. I know this may be a hard question... But can you give us any details into his death... Like what was the murdering weapon and where he was seen before his death.

Grant awaits to see if Ninde knows anything.

Ninde glances about her to make sure none of the close family members are in hearing range. The elf takes Grant by the arm and leads him to a quiet, unoccupied corner. Lowering her voice, she begins speaking in hushed tones. "He was stabbed to death as far as I know with some sort of knife. The Lyrenzia dwarf that came by seemed to think it may have been one of the vegabonds that congregate by the old watchtower.

Gannon does a thorough search of the upstairs guest room. He finds old handmade quilts, silver candle holders and various knick knacks, but nothing that seems to relate to the grisly murder.

((Spot Hidden: Success))

Standing by the door to the guest room, you hear muffled noises from the next room.

Galadria makes her way to the kitchen, but Maybelle is not there. Looking around she notices that someone has layed out a meager portion of bread and jam on the table. Such a small amount of food for all the guests.

((Spot Hidden: Success))

Galadria notices a hobbit lady standing outside the kitchen alone, staring at a large oak tree.

"Greetings good lady,
I am Galadria.."

Galadria thinks, this poor girl is standing so allone, she maybe need some nice words... seems like she was a good friend of the death boy

As Gannon peeks through the door the heavy scent of roses nearly knocks him down. The room is dimmed by thick curtains coverning the windows. A large bed with lacy coverings juts out into the room. The room obviously belonged to Maybelle.

In the corner of the room, a small halfling boy of about 8 years, rocked in a rocking chair. This was the knocking noise Gannon heard. The boy stared with glazed eyes, obviously very saddened. He was wrapped up in an old quilt and his hair was in disarray. He glanced at Gannon momentarily, then continued to stare ahead.

***

After Galadria introduces herself, the halfling woman simply stares ahead, as if she didn't hear her. "Where's his cap? Francis always wore his red cap. Where did he put it?" It turns out this is Maybelle. She is still in a state of shock. She turns to Galadria, suddenly realizing that she was standing with her.

"Disturbed me? No." She looks relieved to have a bit of quiet company.

Gannon opens the door a bit more so he can poke his head in but leaves the rest of him outside the door. Then says.

" So sorry to bother you lad. Just wondering what that knocking noise was. My names Gannon. Who might you be? "

Gannon see's how sad he is and hopes that talking to him would help him out. Not to mention some clues that might help.

((Psychology Roll: Success))

The young boy again looks across the room to Gannon whose large figure takes up the doorway. He casts his eyes down. "I'm Till. Francis was my brother," he says quietly. His eyes are glassy from days and nights of crying. "I loved my brother," he says weakly.

"I am really sorry for what happened, but be sure Francis is now in a better Place. In Siarnis Garden everybody is happy.
Keep the picture of him allways in your heart then he will never be lost.."

Galadria tries to smile, sometimes words are not enough..

"Just tell me something about Francis if you want to.. i will listen"

Drathe does not feel quite at ease just yet to strike up a conversation, as some of the people in the sitting room seem to have done so.
After watching Galadria and Gannon leave the room, the carpenter also decides to step out side into the hall, pulling the sitting room door too as he does.

Looking around the hall, he see the door of the parlour room ajar. Candle light flickers on the wall and the floor that he can see through the gap. Altho the thought of bad manners does cross his mind, curioustity has the louder voice, and so the man walks to the door, pushing it open as he reaches it. Steping one leg through the door way and a hand on the door its self. Drathe pokes his head inside to let his eyes take in what might be there.

Till searched Gannon’s face. Everyone had told him to be particularly careful about strangers since his brother’s death. But Till saw kindness in Gannon’s eyes, only a willingness to help. “No, I wasn’t with him. He had sneaked out of our room that night to meet up with a friend. He told me I could not go.” Till shut his eyes tightly, remembering the last time he saw his brother. "Perhaps if I had gone, I could have stopped it," the little brother had survivor's guilt.

Drathe stuck his head into the parlor. It was empty, save the small body of Francis lying on a table covered in lace and flowers.

When Galadria sat beside Maybelle, the halfling woman held her hand and spoke in a shaking voice. “Francis was a good boy,” she began. “Even learning how to read from a lady at the library.” It was hard talking about the boy in past tense.

Cain nods to the old man. He searches every aspect of the man, as though memorizing the man's features. After a moment or two of thought, Cain begins to speak again.

"Hmm. Is there any information you might be able to provide me that will help the search come to an end more quickly? Like any strange occurences lately, or shady characters nearby the Greely Manor or Archet Hill? Even the average time of day the young master was estimated to be killed would be helpful."

Cain seems to drift back into thought while waiting patiently for Egill's response.

With tentative steps, Drathe enters the room and continues to the table. He stands before it. Reluctantly he looks down at the face of the young boy. The rosey glow of life absent from the ghostly greyish, pale skin.
He looks around the room, empty of life except for the candle that gently glows in the corner. The air feels almost cool in the room to the point of cold.

Raising his hand to the table he strokes the lace cloth, feeling the corse beauty of the lace work beneth his toutch. He lowers his head close to the boys, strangely supprised at not feeling the usual warmth radiated by the living. The carpenter wispers softly into dead ear of the child.
'You are free now little one. Go, do not stay here where the violence echoes in your silence. look around you, if you see a lady take her hand and walk with her, she will show you the way.'

Leaning back up Drathe walks over the the candle, picking it up he takes it back to the body and looks again at the boys lifeless face. As the flame of the candle dances on the wick, the wood worker examins the body. *search body*

The old man rubbed his chin in response to Cain's question. "Well," he began. "Dvalin Eikinskialdi's the dwarf that Lyrenzia sent over. He says that a tramp got him intending on robbing him. But I'm not so sure about that. They wouldn't have cut him up like that just to rob him." The old man picked his cane up and shook it to add empasis.

Gathering several glances from others in the room, Egill set it back down on the floor and lowered his voice. "Some halfling fellow found him early in the morning. Might want to talk to him, too." The man shifted from one old leg to the other.

Across the hall Drathe begins to secretely look over the dead boy's body. First he notes that Francis is dressed in an expesive high-necked silk shirt, his hair was neatly combed back and tied with a black ribbon, his eyelids closed over his lifeless eyes. There are knife slashes across his cheeks. He is battered and bruised, but his clothing covers much of it.
