Seit kurzem bin ich aus dem Gefängnis entlassen worden.
Ich möchte mich bei allen bedanken, die sich für meine Freiheit engagiert haben und die sich für Gerechtigkeit eingesetzt haben!
I am out of jail now.
I want to say thank you to all of those, who worked on my release, and who put energie into justice!

I just thought I would come with some last words on this case.
Basically, not everything can be covered by laws, and it will always be possible to find some way around them. When it comes down to it the guards have to decide a lot of things themselves, and the citizens (and visitors) must listen. If you want to complain, then complain to someone with higher authority than the guard in question.
There are two ways of regarding this case. The first way is juridically, and I think we can now all agree that laws were in fact broken. The other way is to regard it ethically. This was what I mainly did when I decided to arrest Katherine. I kindly asked her to stop cutting trees several times, but she would not. In fact she was rude, and swore that she would continue to cut trees in the future. I am sure this is not usual behaviour from her, and feel confident that she and everyone else will listen to the guards in the future. If you want to remove a tree, talk to the forester, or the governour and I am sure something can be aranged.

Disregarding the fact that "A Dead Man" is writing this note saying I have a bizare sense of logic, I will answer.Evan Ross wrote:So by stopping someone from cutting trees (thus earning money), and throwing them in jail, you are protecting them? You have bizarre logic Aenarion.

I can asure you that the guards do not get the fines they collect, and that I therefor would have no personal gain from collectiong them.

Y'mean the minority who managed to defeat a much larger force? You cannot deny that the people fighting for Caelum in the war were some of the most powerful people in Gobaith, and who better to run a guard?Miklorius wrote:Soon, the whole bunch from the Caelum war is in the town guard...

The guard needs reform. It is basically turning Troll's bane into a military camp. More guards. More taxes. Guards attack other cities. Guards oppress people in town. Guards turn a blind eye onto those whoi are in need of help. The guards are nothing more than bullies. Never around when they are needed, and always there when some one finally feels safe, to be oppressed once more. It is a sad day when I must write this, but I do believe the town is falling into despair and chaos.

Elderberry,
I do not know what you are thinking about arresting Yusuf without sending a dove directly to myself or to Dame To'lorn. If Yusuf really did give Katarina a portal to get out of jail, which she was not supposed to be in anyway, what law did he break? Though I think I am smart enough not to start down this road again, so I will say something else instead.
I run a knighthood, Elderberry. Guard or not, if you arrest or spot a crime possibly commited by a member of the knighthood, then you will send a dove directy to myself or Dame To'lorn. I don't care what he or she did, how major or minor it may be, a dove /will/ be sent to myself or Dame To'lorn.
If a member of the knighthood commits any offence against the law then we absolutely possitively must be informed. This becomes not just a matter of law, but a matter of honour. If the crime is minor enough and there is sufficent evidence stating that the crime was commited, I promise you that the person in question will be punished either by law or by the knighthood. And I asure you, we will punish to the same, if not greater extent of the law for our memebers actions. Hellbriar, I would even let the guards double the punishment if I feel the actions were stupid enough.
Regardless, Elderberry. From now on, you and the rest of the guards /will/ let us know if one of our members has commited a crime. You will send a knight a dove speaking of this inncodent. Is that understood?

Knight of Gobaith
P.S. Deuce can attest to this. And perhaps in time when he feels that he is ready and that he has understood what he did and wishes to repent, may he return as a page.

Unsigned writer,
You are basing this on the one day these new guards have been in town, in which I have personally been doing rounds of the town making sure there is no trouble going on. You haven't even seen the guard in action yet, as no crimes were committed yesterday, so you are simply working on assumptions, which is extremely naive.
Dantagon Marescot,
Alright, I will inform you in future; but as I said, he has only potentially committed those 4 crimes. I let them go eventually, since allegedly Dain Laiden had given orders for Katarine to be released immediately, and if she had escaped with a magical device it wouldn't have made a difference anyway. If this turns out to be false, those crimes potentially committed can be assumed true and acted on.

I really hope that changes within the governmental structures are officially declared again in the future! In the main parchment about the guards, William Elderberry's name is missing... And is Aenarion still guard (I am a bit confused about his latest messages here).

Current list of guards:
Dain Laden - Captain
Deuce - Lieutenant
William Elderberry - Guard
Julius Rothman - Suspended
Piggy - Suspended
The suspensions are due to your absences at the meeting today. Being suspended you are not legally allowed to emit bans, fees, or jail time. To regain your position you will need to speak with myself or send a dove witch gets a response in the next dwarven week. If this is not done, your name will be stricken from the list.
Citizens and guards alike, welcome William Elderberry to the Town Guard of Troll's Bane. I believe we will also have an few additional guards on with us soon.

Dain Laden - Captain
Deuce - Lieutenant
William Elderberry - Guard
Amadi Yusuf Randal - Guard
Recuite - Rorak
Recuite - Drathe Blue
A recuite will be upgraded to guard status after they have proven their worth with minor dealings in the law and blade. Only a guard will be given armor. We cannot have people joining and leaving as soon as they get paid once or armored.
All questions reguarding payment need to be addressed to the governor, not myself.

-- Yusuf has been allowed to skip the rank of reuicte because of his needed skills. He can speak in the old language, is extreamly skilled with a blade, as well as a fair knowledge of the laws. He will be a valuabe asset to the guard. --
