Suggestion about #me's in whisper mode.

Suggestion about #me's in whisper mode.
I believe that, when we make a #me while in whispering mode, the action is then only seen by those at a range of two tiles.
What I would suggest, is that this action be visible for the same distance that when we are not in whisper mode.
Simply because action such as :
#me points to the man
#me throws a mug of beer
#me says in a loud tone "hey you bastard"
Cant really be a 2 tile things, and some people (in fact a lot) do not know that making a #me while in whisper mode makes it only visible to those close to them, it can make other people miss out a lot of different #me's.
What do you think?

I always use #w and #o unless I plan on speaking in whispers for an extended period of time.
I like Achae's idea, though...make the whispered #me's a lighter color...or darker in this case since the yellow is already almost too bright....to make it obvious that they are whispered and not spoken for the whole town to hear.

I think its absolutely rubbish to make it outloud.
Lets say a bandit mugs someone, they will use the whisper #me when inside a building to theive the person.
Then some prat walks past and hears the #me's, and just so happens to walk to the scene of a crime, and catch the person. Happens all the time.
As it is right now is perfect. The people far away have absolutely no reason to see the actions from through walls etc.

That is exactly what having a different shade for the whispered #me's would fix...
It would tell a person whether they are whispering their #me's or not...so if they are accidentally shouting them, they can fix it if they need to, or if they are trying to #me across the room, they will notice that their #me's are only being whispered...
Other than that, I don't see anything that needs to change with this...just a confirmation that it actually is a whispered #me and not a spoken one would be comforting many times, though...

yeah this is good for me. I have been playing for like 7 months now and didn't know that if you did #me in wisper it would show up for people only two tiles away. Wait... does this mean if you do an emot in yelling it will show up really far away? If so, just color code them.Achae Eanstray wrote:Either that, or have the lettering lighter so that whisper emote is obvious would be fine with me.
Great, so many opportunities will be gone.
How many times is it that someone might "#me draws his sword to the mans throat" behind a brick wall, and then the guy going past magically runs back into the building.
ALWAYS happens. Although i guess people could just whisper *blah blah* but its just.. so much more annoying and pointless.

I have a question.....WHAT are you arguing about?!?!?! These two posts solve the problem! There's no more discussion needed!

Simpleminded dimwits that don't even realize when a problem is solved alre......Oh, I'm sorry. Am I still talking out loud?Rumil Togrin wrote:That is exactly what having a different shade for the whispered #me's would fix...![]()

Frankly I think using the older options is less noobish than using the NEW options (new-noob) wouldn't you agree?Nop wrote:Great advice. Why do you think the toggle modes were included into the new client, you noob? In order not to use them?AlexRose12345678910 wrote:Well don't use whisper toggle button, n00b. Use #w. I never use toggle.

People would not need to "read the forum" as you said if the shades were different. And I agree....I didn't know that #me's could be whispered, but that, as I said, would be fixed by shading the whispered #me's.Arameh wrote:No, not everyone reads the forum, and long distance or close distance #me's are the same colour, I would think that MOST players didnt know that #meing in whisper mode was only 2 tiles, I personally didnt only last week.

No, I would not agree. I find the insert toggle very useful if I am planning to type a fair number of whispered lines. It saves time of typing, but most importantly, ensures that you never accidentally end up with the infamous 3w's instead of the #w that you intended.AlexRose12345678910 wrote:Frankly I think using the older options is less noobish than using the NEW options (new-noob) wouldn't you agree?
