The account system wasn't a filter for quality, there were problem players even with it on. It disuaded undesirables from attempting to gain account acceptance, but it also turned off a number of potentially good players.

There's not going to be a point where Illarion is 'killed' by players who don't know how to roleplay. The GMs aren't going to be rushed and overwhelmed. If a great problem arises, it will be dealt with then. For the time being, stop being so touchy about everything.

I'm quite sure no one likes it if noobs come in, interrupt a perfectly good roleplay saying, "Hw do u fite?" then does it himself.

And I'm sure no one likes a game with 20 players. We can help those who don't understand certain concepts.

Though I keep trying to help there are also those who don't want to hear it, and that annoys me. And calling a GM could take a while and the newbie will likely have logged off by than or something.
Let me get some logs:

[Edited by Markous] Do not post long logs here, please.

Now, don't tell us we didn't try here. And I've seen quite a number of people like this now and it's becoming realy annoying.

And with the newbie constantly running around and stuff it's quite impossible to even get to talk to her.

Yeah... I just had the problem with annoying Kevin by forgetting to use double brackets for OOC. S'alright Kevin, I have stopped doing that now.

You say that calling a GM would take so much time, but as far as I have read your logs, a GM was present in form of a player character.

Calling a GM is always the best method.

It was.
But instead of working at the accounts I now use my time for being ingame and have an eye of the new players, likewise for helping.

Even we filtered the bad names with the accountsys.
'Cause it's shut down these days I need the help of all of you.
I haven't the time to be 24/7 at my comp.
Therefore I ask you to send me pm with those names. I will have a look and see if they are already banned from another gm, otherwise I'll do.
Thanks.

Just lyke to add this quote from the main page: :)
If you want to join us, create your account in the account system. You will then be asked to answer some questions about roleplaying and to finish a short story. After gamemasters have processed your application, you can see in the account system if you have been accepted. To log in to the game, you just need the Illarion client which you can you get from the download page. Since we read every application carefully in our spare time, it may take some days before we get to yours. Please be patient and use the time to inform yourself about the world of Illarion at this page: www.moonsilver.de.
Is anyone goign to take it off?

Added -> "Bob Fisher" what kynd of name is that? *coughs*

What about keeping this new system but require an application to use it, like with special races?

I love not having to wait a few hours or days for my new character, but then again I love not having a Penis Growth around..

EDIT: Yoiw is my character.

It's a goblin, and Yoiw sounds like a goblin name.

You suck.. -sobs-

I improved the automated character name check some minutes ago, which should filter out a lot of stupid names (including bad formatting such as multiple spaces and stupid name parts like "Penis" and things like that).

I hope that at least some of you understand the term "constant development" because I fear some of you don't.

I saw that. I think it may be a lizardgnome. You know...4 names, all long yet sound lizardish.

I seriously wonder about the...mechanics of that half breed.

martin,
"constant development"
as far as i understand it, it means, players bitch around about something,
the staff reacts like pavlovian dogs and works hard to give the players some more to bitch about...
