First time ruined!

Post by Mah'dee Daye »

I just logged in as my character and was approached by a gnome who was able to introduce themselves as Xandjik. Everything was going well until I tried to use the #i command and nothing happened!

I thought maybe I had read the guide wrong so I tried to get back to the guide. I waited so long that it caused the poor gnome to get frustrated. I tried to respond by typing out my name in the greeting, knowing it would be better not to break character.

It was too late however and my first attempt at roleplaying here was an utter failure!

I finally found the guide and it says to use the #i command! Why doesn't it work for me?

Typing #i gives your name to the other person only if they are at most 2 squares vertical or horizontally or 1 square diagnolly away. However, once you press it, it wont change anything on your screen, only the other players.

Thank you. I am glad that you read this so we could clear that up.

In other words:

When you use "#i", the other player still expects from your character to say something like: "Well met, my name is ... "
