Quest Feedback: Mean Mummies everywhere

Post by Nitram »

Because Retlak is to shy i have to ask, the ones who where involved in this nice little quest.

We are talking about the players into mummies turning quest that was created by the players of Alkuurg and Retlak.
Technic Stuff done by me.

What did you think about this quest? Opinions are wanted.

Considering this was a first quest try i think it went really well with what we were aiming for. We really enjoyed it, did the mummified people and the Altar hunters enjoy it? All in all we could not have done it without such a great community.

Great quest. I loved it. Great idea, greatly done. And I'm still not going to let a mummy run free just because it's a GM. :P

That's not the point, Nitram. The player I talk about knows who is meant.

I regret not having logged out when the bunny first came to town and ruined my chars luncheon. After 3 hours of slowly dieing I had no more will to play when my char was ghosted and still came back as a skeleton. I can't understand how it was intended to be fun, that was my pov.

I think it was quite good! And was it really 3 hours (in the arena)?! Anyways, you are right that there is not very much space for varietal RP when you are in such quarantine area. And I didn't really like how the "rescueing part" evolved...
It was fun to attack as a skeleton, but unfortunately my character wasn't able to kill anyone .
But I think it was not the best decision to start this quest only one day after the apparently very similar mummy quest (which seems to were more tenacious... [is that correct english!?]).

All in all, a filled weekend: mine accident, mummy quest, cursed soul, skeleton quest, cursed soul...

mean mummies

Post by Siltaris »

I think the idea of the mummie-quest was realy good. It also was fun to see how mummies act and to rescue them by destroying the altair.

But at the same time, there are few things which make me feel a bit unhappy about it. Maybe the reason for this was, that I came into this quest when a dwarf was attacked and all things were running for a while. So this dwarf played to be near the death. We hardly got him into caste and layed him into bed. And then, after we bandaged his wounds, when we went out of the room to discuss what to do next, he started to run around to tell Lennier something... in this moment i was a bit furious cause of his RP - nearly dead and not able to move before, and then running around!?!

However, this was not real part of the quest. So back to topic. ;-)
During the whole quest, I never really knew what to do, why these things are happening, why to hold mummies in castle, cause these magic-strength mummies could ran off all the time they wanted; and we did not know how to cure them. So I felt that I never was really "in" the quest and just a branch flowed within a river.

But i think this is just me, because I came too late, I guess. The idea behind it and the solution for it were well done as well as mummies RP. :D

Yesterday mummies, today skeletons, tomorrow ogres? ;-)

Join the club ,

Myself and Retlak never really commanded the other mummies or directed anyone in this quest, and if you didn't get what you had to do, well, you would have been eaten by mummies.

The two super ancient powered mummies were not industructable by the way 8)

it just needed ancient powers to go against it.. Samantha's magic took me out. And because we were mummies, we were still pretty weak.

AND, we did NOT do the skelington quest!

Yes, I know. Sorry that here is some mix between the quests.
So my criticism about the timing of both quests goes more to the makers of the skeleton quest :D.
