Not if your name has been rejected. They do e-mail you if your application (the one with the two questions) is not accepted, however, they will not go into detail as to why your application was rejected.
This is due to the sheer volume of requests they receive (according to Arien, he received almost 250 requests last weekend) , so I'm sure you can understand this.
Welcome to Illarion (maybe
)

In the meantime, take a look at these interesting articles and website, which should help you become accustomed to Illarion and the type of roleplay that goes on here.

No. Have you read the name rules?

You

Assassin? What kind of name is that?
An assassin is a profession, not a name. What if I came up to you and said "Hello, I am School Student!"

Ok......
Anyway, assassin is NOT a good name. If you have trouble making up a simple name, then you probably shouldn't play.
I'm sorry to be harsh.

*BLAM!*
Hey, you asked for it.
In case you hadn't read: Assassin is a profession. Professional killer.
Every name with "killer" in it was rejected. As would any name that is clearly the name of a profession.
I mean no disrespect, but it's not that hard to come up with an original name that fits into a fantasy setting. And other than that, if you do a google, there are alot of name generating systems which you could use to make up names.

You can name your char like a mother would name her child. When you´re accepted, you can add a prefix and a suffix to your name. Example:
John Smith [the ranger]
John Smith [the assasin]
[Sir] John Smith
Commands: !prefix TEXT, !suffix TEXT

I think only moderators can lock-down/delete threads.

If you were the last one to post in a topic, you could delete the last post you made by clicking the little 'X' icon (near the edit button). Otherwise you could simply edit your post and replace the text with something else.
