Blood , Gore 'n Violance (FSK 16)

Post by Darlok »

As the topic says, this is not suitable for children below the age of 16.
(You know the game is not recommended for you, if you are younger.)

Since you know have the technical possibility to create objects based on a time interval, I would like to ask you:

Is it possible to create a "Pool of Blood"-Object below your Character when he is wounded?
Depending on how many hitpoints he has left this blood-object will be created faster or slower.

Lets say a character with 25% health will "bleed" every 30 seconds, while a character with 75% health will "bleed" every 45 seconds.

This way someone can recognice how baldy injured someone else is, and maybe replaces our little red spark. ;)
(Which is a bit off the center right now.)

And for someone who wants a hardcore version of this.
If you have 1% health "Insides" should be created below the character. :D

Hmm, you could avoid this easily.
Re-color the "blood" green. ;)

On the other hand, there are many different creatures in the game, with even more to come.
So maybe its not the worst idea to have some blood in a different color.
Green for the Swamp-, or Forest Trolls for example.

An of course this pool of blood would need to be a limited size or when people use potions there will be a huge pool of blood, which actually ... since the only healing potion is the green one, then yes, green blood

Green Blood? Hahha Only for trolls and demons.

But hey its not a bad idea!

For the blood graphic when you hit the person, there could be a splash of blood that goes down . Hehe

It is recommended for 16 and older, so no point it trying to make the graphis for younger kids. If they want to put bad blood graphics in their mind, thats their problem.

I don't see how blood splats effect children, at least not in Illarion. I played SoF ages ago, I'g guessing before I was 16 and running round blowing people's faces off with a shotgun didn't effect me because I knew it was fake. Besides, I don't think there would be much gore on Illarion due to the graphic size.
If you have 1% health "Insides" should be created below the character.
I agree here, I also think all insides should be called 'insides' but look grpahically different. That is by demon insides look different from mummy insides etc. Would be very cool.

And don't forget orc's bloods can be dark red or just plain black. Orcs don't bleed like humans! Their hearts are black thus their blood is too ;) Anyway, a good idea as well. I agree with it. It would make the game more interesting. And just wait Galim, you may have some "real" beer coming sooner or later ;)

I don't see how this would cause a fuss amoun a few younger players. It wouldn't be too bloody. If you could zoom in and see every detail that might cause a little fuss but not a little circle of blood.

I love this idea, it would add a new degree of reality, and help with a lot of RPs. It could also be used to see if people are powergaming using potions. Think about it, if you go to the mummies and the blood is everywhere, but there is just one person, then he could very well be popping potions ever few mummies all night. But that aside I agree with the blood idea, and I think the "make the blood green" thing is to dodge some laws or regulations about gore in video games, I don't mean to offend anyone by saying this, but isn't Germany supposed to be kinda hard on gorey games?

yeah becuase as I see it the insides would cause a lot of pointless lag, would they not?

Now green blood might look good on monsters like forest trolls and such.

I dont think insides would be logical... especially if they were the same...

heres a scneario : Nilo walks down the street. Nilo gets attacked by squirrels. Nilo has a large pool of blood under him and drops his liver. Nilo walks to the shop, and drops a few more livers onhis way. A trail of livers lead to Nilo's body.

You'd have to have a whole lot of different body parts for the insides...

Who likes my scenario?

Anyway, the blood part is good. Orcs need green blood i think, everyone else red....

This game is recommended for 16 and older right? Blood sounds like a cool idea. So do footprints, but footprints would probobly lag the server alot.

Maybe for footprints you would have to Shift Click the land to look at it. A little message would pop up saying "You see nothing" or "There are small footprints"

The hardcore version doesn't sound bad, but that would presume that the character has been disembowled. I think it would be a little unusual to have every corpse have a big, open cut across his belly.

That, and it could mean death. But characters only die once. The cloud stage, I think, is just a "significantly wounded" thing. Not a real death.

I like the idea though, very much. It could give Illarion more of a Middle Ages/war backround to battling.

I think it would be awesome!
And don't worry about the kids' mental health! Lol, Illa is far away from being graphically disturbing!

For the insides idea you could easily just do it like, the insides an only drop once. Hmm, maybe, I dunno. Maybe the insides couldn't be done, but the pool of blood I think is a good idea. I had proposed bleeding every so often when hurt before. That way people know if their actually hurting the monster.

Maybe you should have made it all the more obvious by proposing that characters soil themselves upon taking massive damage.
