Activating Accounts

Post by Higher_Justice »

So just to clarify...
I apply for an Account, and then they will send me back an E-Mail with Questions for me to answer.

So If my name is NOT accepted, will I get an E-Mail telling me it was Declined?

If I answer the questions "Incorrectly" will I get an E-Mail telling me it was Declined?

If not, How long does it usually take to recieve a Verification e-mail, so I'm not waiting on something that won't come

=D Thanks in advance

If your name was not accepted, you will not get any notification.

If your name was accepted, you will receive the questions.

If your answers were accepted or declined you will receive notification.

If you are accepted, you will have to wait for your character to be activated.

If you are not accepted, you are free to apply for another account with the same or different character.

Alrighty, thanks Gro'bul =D

But how long should I wait before I try to make a new character. I don't want to spam the guys at Illarion with Account Requests, thinking the names weren't accepted when they just haven't gotten round to it yet. But I also don't want to wait for months, and then realize my name musn't have been accepted. So whats the average time for a response?

Although it would make sense that if my name follows the rules, I shouldn't be worrying anyway.

Man, I hate sounding like a complete moron. I guess I'm just impatient

What is the name of you character ... but I think it will be fine since you don't act like a complete moron or write like one of these little kids with name like "Monsterkilla9986" and ask why they never got an e-mail, I think you will recive an e-mail in the next few days.

The name I tried for is Dezaan Woodlander. A person I used to play alot on Neverwinter Nights. If that doesn't work I'll probably try Justus Al'Cazradan or Caltarin Dakrazaan. These names alright?

Well, if this helps, mine came in about 2-3 days, because I'm stupid and don't remember if I applied on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Just checking, because I have sent in 4 names already :D

Names (included: gender/sex race)
====================================
Name: Mason Lynores Race: Human Gender: Male
Name: Uriel Imphela Race: Elf Gender: Female
Name: Lunar Xabu Race: Human Gender: Female
Name: Arwen Longfoot Race: Orc Gender: Male
====================================

:? Do these seem like pretty acceptable names? :?

Name: Mason Lynores Race: Human Gender: Male
Name: Uriel Imphela Race: Elf Gender: Female
Name: Lunar Xabu Race: Human Gender: Female
Name: Arwen Longfoot Race: Orc Gender: Male
Can't say I'm over the moon about the first name...
The second one seems alright, but Imphela seems to ring a few bells.
The word Lunar is used to describe the moon and so not be deemed suitable.
And Arwen is blatently stolen from LOTR.

You shouldn't send in several names at once, just wait until one name gets approved and until then, read over the name rules.

You make a science out of it. Just trust in your feelings. And please don't spam these working on the accounts by sending in dozens of names.

The first three are quite okay. The last one reminds too much on LOTR.

Well....
I don't have an account yet. I'm still waiting :)

Just because the name was used in LOTR ( Only watched 10 minutes of one movie ) doesn't mean I took it from there. Thanks for pointing it out though.

Geez you requsted them TODAY.
This is no automated process and there is not a person answering the mails 24 hours a day.

Wait for an answer till tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, dont be so impatient.

I was accepted on May 2, and I understand that the team is very busy. So whereas I'm not complaining, I am admittedly over-anxious to get started.

It's difficult to keep looking at your e-mail day after day, crossing fingers and hoping that final e-mail from Illarion is there, waiting.

I would like to be active on the message board, in and out of character. But that isn't really possible either, because I certainly cannot comment on the game, and trying to get into character is very taxing as well, because all I can do is ignorantly respond to others with no idea of their motivation or history.

Sorry to rant here, and again, I'm not complaining. I'm just very excited to get started, and this is just about the only place I can post with some experience to back me up.

Yeah, I think it took about 2 weeks for my character to be activated. But, it is really worth waiting for. And, once you are able to play, you will be grateful that they hand-sift through all the applications.

:) Well, I just read some in the Newbie forum and was enlightened with the knowledge that there is no final confirmation e-mail telling me that I can log in and start playing. I guess that I will now transfer my anxiety to the Illarion client instead of the outlook express program. hehe

But I don't like the message that I get when I can't log in, because it says that my account hasn't been accepted. I know, I know. That doesn't mean exactly what it says, but did I mention that I'm very excited about playing?

And yes, I can totally understand, and appreciate, the process they go through to be selective. I played a mmorpg for almost 2 years and just recently left because it changed from its rp origins to hack and slash. The community really went to hell. So, having a select group of people to interact with is VERY encouraging. :D

Can't wait to get started, because I have a lot of rp in me that has been suppressed for quite a while.

Oops

Absage appeared to look like Abuse, because I was kind of angry that my accounts weren't accepted.

(looks at your info, and sees Netherlands)

When you have waited for three weeks.....I should try again. I waited for a mont, but that was only because of vacation of the GMs...so try again, and use the old saying.. I tried, I lost, I cheated(Oh...wrong one, that one is for singleplayer games.. 8) )
