Where's the other side? I only see one wall and a roof. Since when is a wall and a roof a cube?

WOW! YOU PUT PICTURES ON IT! OMG! PRAISE HIM! I AM A N00B! YEAH, YOU'RE SO L337!

note: The window just looks...wrong. The shading on the floor doesn't look right, and the window seems to be facing at an angle to the wall.

Model a room before you criticise others, Rynt.

Have you ever considered being inside the cube? oh what a concept!

Wow, I really love it Returner! And there are so many details in it, like the floor in the front, where the path the owner walked upon for many times obviously is a little used. When I see graphics like this I really wished I could make these things too. But I can't :(

Keep on with this great work! :P

Edit:

Updated once more, this will be the final update i post online.

Aaron, thanks for pointing out the lighting, I noticed it did not match the sun and looked a little fake, I hope you approve of the new setup ;)

I'm not a graphical genious or anything like that, but shouldn't both of the windows have the sunlight in same angle if the lightning comes from the same direction?

This is the light setup,

Scene also updated at the image URL in a higher resulotion,

Takes 8mins to render with shadows and AA, on a AMD 2000+ XP, 256MB ram, 128 onboard AGP card.

However, I dont think marty would appreciate me posting hyperealist images on his forum, (really only wanted to post the one here to show that i can, indeed, map a cube ;) ) so as i continue, anyone whose interested can check out the post i will make in OFF Topic.

This is not hyperrealistic.
The whole scene consists of simple boxes which are mapped without assigning extra coordinates to them. Every newbie can do that.
Besides that, the textures look everything but realistic. The world I live in is not as simply textured and consists of no ideal boxes. Maybe it's different up there in canada so that your image could be considered realistic?

Ok martin, how about a little contest.

You make a scene thats more realistic then mine, and i'll agree with you.

However, I think your going to come back with a "I'm to busy to make other graphics.....but not to busy to look down upon you" statement.

If every newbie can do it, prove it, Martin.

Just to be fair, every object started with a cube in my scene

so perhaps every object should start with a cube in yours, to

I already started using NURBS. Sorry. And as I like the first approximation very much, I won't start a new one.

NURBS

Let me guess

Your using some program like C4D or MAX that does all the work for you.

Your really damn stupid, arn't you?
you have no clue what NURBS are, right? And you never really worked with a 3D-program, right, which does "everything" for you. Am I right, little boy?
Working with NURBS is damn more difficult than your (rather basic and simple) box modelling. Just to let you know.

Allow me to explain,

Over complication is something a newbie will learn, eventually, martin.

Why i do not use nurbs...

There is no fun in nurbs, there is no skill in nurbs, in fact, its so incredibly easy to slap a few nurb tags on a low poly model, and watch it turn into a high poly model, that it takes the ART out of Graphic Art.

By the way, I use programs, likely many of which you cant afford, or even havent had the guts to download. And yes, I did pay for them, allow me to list

all 3d software:

Bryce 5

C4D 6XL

Carrera

Anim8or

Wings 3d

Blender

Particle Illusion

DoGa L3

Maya PLE

Softimage XSI EXP

All 2d software:

UVmapper PRO

Serif Photoplus 5.5

Animation software:

Sony screenblast studio

Pure motion

So, Little boy, wheres your ground breaking scene?

I've senn so many NURBS models, and they 've been all better then the objects u used in your scene.

Here an example of hyper realism without a 3d tool.
this looks real.

PS:thats not my work. its the work from a colleague

The truth is that NURBS modelling is the most difficult way to model, but it produces the best results. One has to be rather skilled to use them.

What you describe is definitly not NURBS modelling. This sounds like smothen low-poly meshes.

Wings 3d

Blender
Impressive. You paied for them? Not bad for freeware tools.
Better learn how to use them instead of wasting your time.

I am not a little boy. I'll turn 27, I could easily be your grandfather.

ROFL :o

Its not only in 3d tools possible to texture something.
the house based of a blueprint and is created in photoshop 6.0
Ur scene looks like an old 3d shooter and not hyperrealistig. it needs much morethen light, some bad textures a cube and the boolean operation to make a scene looking real

Yoruhm, I don't think photo-realism and hyper-realism are the same thing. Personally I've never heard of hyper-realism, sounds like some anime cartoon.

But both words r including "realism". So its the intention to create pictures which should awake the feeling, that this work could be real. in the case of returners pic... it doesnt look photo realistic, hyper realistic, semi-realistic, or somewhat else

I want to see martins real skill, not the same graphics we've been staring blindly at while hearing"new graphics coming" since 2001
