Hm.. they look quite different to me. You can just remember that-

Male human graphic: Has cape and short, dark brown hair.
Male elf graphic: No cape. Has light brown hair in a ponytail.

Female humans also have a cape. Female elves have long black hair.

The current client allows a 's to be added to the #me.

The light brown ones are called depots, and you may store your inventory in them. Just rightclick and select "Open."

Any other chests are just for decoration. DO NOT put anything in them, if you do not want to lose your items.
