The Great Escape!

Post by Grant Herion »

Grant and Konstantin both tired of eating the poor food they were given, and physically drained from trying to break down the wall are visited by a spirit... The spirit of mind!
Darlok and several orcs are above them, but the spirit of mind pays no heed to them, instead, to takes down a portion of the castle's wall and the men race out. They are in the sun light. Temporarily disoriented by the bright light, they were used to darkness.
But they are following the spirit of mind now. They race around the ogres and to the ocean. "End of the road..." Grant says gloomily as he sees several orcs catching up to them. But just then the spirit of mind does another miracle.
Grant steps out onto the water. Then another. Then another and soon they are far from the coast. Konstantin follows, they are safe now.
The spirit of mind takes them to the Zelphia Shrine, then the southern forest of the island. Then to a ship controlled by the dead.
The captain, a skeleton, swaggers over to Konstantin sword drawn, but Konstantin cuts it to peices. Then the spirit of mind takes them to another distant place, a castle in the sea, deserted, then a seemingly peaceful island.
But they both learn that things are not what they seem, they see a demon come out of the small hut and are quickly whisked away to Northerot again, in the view of Darlok. Both of the men sprint away, but they didn't even need to, the spirit of mind took both of them to another island.
This island was small, seemingly harmless.
Then they were taken to the roof of the castle, safely away from Darlok's clutches. Then to the smithing hut in Northerot. Then to their final destination...
Another island, full of rocks, but trees grew out of the rock. Many portals were on the ground and a demon crawled out of a single portal. Niether Konstantin or Grant were prepared to fight a demon, but they had to.
The Demon swung it's axe and knocked Konstantin into a portal, Grant didn't see what happened next, the Demon hit Grant with the blunt end of his axe and Grant collapsed.
Then the demon feel apart from the magic of the spirit of mind...
Both of the two escapees went off into their own seperate quests..

Konstantin sees Drakhen's castle and a spider. Soon the picture disappears.
Konstantin sees an image of his house burnt. He loses sight of Grant.
He loses his war axe, and is stuck with his dagger, his sword, and his crossbow.

He looks around for his escape mate, but he is not around. Spirit of mind comes and tells Konstantin that he has to continue his voyage alone now.
Konstantin is taken to visit the sacred sanctuary of The Shadow God, then
he finds himself in a large cave, looking more like a valley, surrounded by a ring of what seems to be mountains. Spirit of mind tells him that now he has to survive himself and find a ship.

The valley is rocky, looks very large, and even has a lake in the middle of it. Konstantin walks south, and goes around the lake. There is no ship on the lake. He wonders how a ship, docked on a lake can lead him into open waters. Finally, after good exploration, Konstantin finds a climbing rope. He climbs it and enters a tall tower. It turned out that the rocky valley was simply a large basement cave.

Konstantin climbs the tower to the top floor, and spot a pier from the roof, and a large ship. He tries to remember how to handle such a massive vessel. Controlling it himself is rather hard, if you don't have a crew.
But Konstantin makes his way to the main island, docks at the Lighthouse, and the ship disappears!
