the old tavern
hundreds of years ago, when trollsbane was even more glorious than it was today, a great tavern was the meeting place of the people, everyone from all around the world came to the tavern to talk about everything, from the weather, to signing a treaty to end a war, it was a great place, but one day, a dark, shadowy sage entered, who looked to be as old as time, he wore a worn grey robe down to his sandals, and had a beard down to his chest, but one thing stood out on this man, the sword to his side. all of the people recognized what he was when they saw his sword, for it had an eerie glow to it that drained the life out of the place, he stood in the doorway for almost an hour, his head leaned toward the floor, until suddenly he looked up, and in the blink of an eye had slit the throats of all the people who were in the front of the tavern, only one person escaped the incident alive, a lone hobbit who had snuck out the back, and the tavern has been closed ever since, but today is a wonderful day, for a noble, priestly man arrived last week on a ship from the great sea, and has bought the old tavern, and is opening it to the public tommorow, maybe once again cheer can come to the place where the innocent blood of so many was spilled.
