I decided to do some blacksmithing today and i noticed the when ever i failed to make an item i didn't loose the resources like i normally did. Also it takes 2 iron and coal to make any items requireing wood (unless you only have one of each in your inventory, then it only takes one). Items only requireing iron and coal only took on of each and the resources where still kept if failed. Is this a bug or somthing? or something that happens once you reach a certian level of blacksmithing?
Except for blacksmithing became almost impossible to learn, given that it takes huge amounts of all resources, and coal is only in SilverBrand, and dwarves are rarely online.
I found one spot where coal was besides silverbrand...but it was so hard to dig up I broke four shovels for like 10 pieces...so it was soooo not worth it.
actually things such as wood chopping axes and hammer were taking 2 coal and 2 iron. Anything without wood only took one of each. And if you only put 1 iron and 1 coal into your inventory that is all you'll need to make the same items which took 2 before.
There are many spots besides silverbrand to mine coal. Blacksmithing almost impossible, as it should be. How in midevil ages would you find intricate directions and ways to smith without great difficulty, they didn't even have public libraries and that is if they could read.
So finally everyone won't be mastersmiths. And perhaps smithed items will finally be worth something too!
Huzzah!
Hahahaha
I got all the coal i could carry from that place and didnt break a shovel, guess ill have to come find ya and take your business again like i did in the old days Mishrak, I cant wait!!
Perhaps my dwarf is the son of a famous miner from a place other than the island. He would have passed his knowledge to me. In that case I would be able to get coal without a problem but of course I cant. But maybe Silverbrand has a very high concentration of coal or something.
