Can't create a character...program stalls

I go into Illarion and go to create new. I fill out all the fields, and hit "create". Nothing happens. In fact, I can no longer interact with the program. It completely stalls when I hit create. Any suggestions?

Im on Windows 98, with a brand spanking new hard drive.

Try re-downloading the client, if that doesn't work, I don't know.

I'm running it on windows 98 so I don't think it's that.

That's exact the same problem like I have ...

re-downloading doesn't help, there's something other wrong ......

Well if it stalls when you hit create, there is probobly some interference with the internet. Perhaps zonealarm isn't authorized to let it access the internet or some other firewall system.

It micht be a VB or other corrupted .dll file that causes problems.

No, I don't think it's a problem with a firewall and so on ...

I have not got one and it doesn't work anyway.

and with the .dll files ... what do u think to do against this?

Well, both of you try this http://armil0.tripod.com and click on the edited exe link on the main page.

It is a recompiled verson that i edited the graphics in but if you create an account in it and it works after your account is accepted you can play on standard illarion. But I think you just replace the exe file, and for some odd reason it is 2mb less in size than the normal and its zipped so it will be an easy d/l I might work, tell me if it does, I would like to know.

Well ... it doesn't work

I know it's sounds stupid, but ... are u sure that there isn't a problem with creating a character with windows 98? All my friends who tried have windows XP and it worked without any trouble and I've seen Users on this board who had the same problem and use 98, too.

Is it possible?

I use 98 and have had no problems with Illarion.
