Paul, dismayed with the changes of the town, and saddened by the lack of replies to his questions, decides to head out of town for a while, and try what little luck he seems to have on the open road.

Farewell, people of troll's bane. If you care to listen at all, which I doubt, then I am leaving on a bit of a vacation, it seems. I leave a town that alienated me, and hopefully someday I'll come back to a town with open arms.

Paul leaves his golden quill behind, a small teardrop on the paper. Paul heads out of town, remembering happier days with Malinne and all his friends.
