graphic-themes and personal gui-customisation in open source

would it be possible to make the graphics customizable for everyone (for example by describing the concept in a tuturial) so that interested graphic artists can built their ownunofficial "mods".

i think this would be a big step in the development in of game because its variety would grow rabidely.

i also think of contestes or votings by witch the official layout could be ellected every two or three months ...

ps: mainly the current gui motivated me to post this comment because its ok, but (sorry to say) could be also MUCH nicer.

The thing is that I don't know why I should spend my time for creating graphics noone uses anyway. So, if you like to create new graphics, just let me know, send them to me (I gave you my e-mail adress some minutes ago) and we'll see.
