Ressisting magic

To give people a chance, to resist aggressive magic, I just changed the following:
- the skill magic resistance gives you a chance to resist an aggressive spell
- the success rates for casting spells have been reduced
- the attribute "essence" modifies the amount of damage you take from a spell

How do we get the skill to appear?
And where does it appear?
One person had "puncture weapons"...is that a skill?
