A Simple Prayer to Oldra

Post by Viola Thistle »

Viola enters the thicket of holy trees surrounding Oldra's woodland temple. The air is dry and soundless. She kneals down and begins to pray.

Oldra, I am but a simple woman.
I am not a great adventurer.
I am not a great thinker.
But I fear for my home, Troll's Bane.
I fear the unknown.
The animals of our once fair island have disappeared.
If they left on thier own accord, I know not.
If they are hidden on the island, I know not.
If they fled in terror, I only hope they have escaped some way.
I come to pray for wisdom and advise and strength from you and all the Gods.
Unto each who is worthy, I pray you will endow them with a grain of your knowledge and strength.
For I fear for the coming days.
I do not expect anything for myself Dear Gods, I have been utterly humbled by your last message to me.
If I can serve you Goddess Oldra, and in turn the Elder Gods, in any way, please let it be known unto me.

Viola Thistle sets offerings of fruit and herbs and sickles on the table..
Viola Thistle bows her head and takes her leave. Many yards from the grove, she takes out a small tied note and whistles for her friend the Robin. Having never had to call twice, she whistles again. It is then she realizes her friend the Robin has also disapeared from the island.
