I think that, on the "create new"character thing, you press the "advice" and i think it should say something about to do spells you MUST have intellegence, and the more intellegence, the more spells you can do.
I know too many people that dont know that when they make a character. Then, you cant make any more new ones, so you cant change that.
Unfortunately, these people read a magic book, (usually pen) and then they are stuck being a mage who cant cast anything.
Unless you can change your attributes after you create a character, i think it best you should mention this to new people BEFORE they create the new character.
Thanks, Seth Valor

All what you need for creating a Character is written down on the Illarion page, the meaning from the different abilities and their effect too.
And i know nobody who isn´t able to read but play this game.
People who forgot reading is their own fault, they have no right to complain or to cry for a solution.

If you can find where it says it requires intellegence on this site, please provide a link. I didnt find it.Covers powerful offensive magic.
Mage magic is performed by combining runes.
To recieve runes, an aspiring mage must seek out and perform a quest from potent mages, that live around in Illarion.
Different rune combinations must be tried out, in order to learn a spell.
Casting of spells requires mana, which is drained from the sun and the moon. High aligned mages will draw more mana during the day, and low alignment mages during the night.
Mages may not wear armour, as it prevents you from absorbing the mana.
Mage magic is wielded by mages, and to a lesser extent by warlocks.
good point, runescape requires no intellegence, but when you create a char you should set their stats how your going to make them, like i think the old magic system required no int to be a mage, therefore people made themselves strong warrriors with weak minds, but could still be powerful mages and strong warriors so they could have the best of both world. This game unlike most requires a certain level of common sense.
Still, they should at least to a better job on the 'advice' button...I had no idea what 'essence' was, I assumed it was only for RP like age, then only when I log on for the first time, I find out it has to do with magic resistance. I have about no essence, and can't stand in a blue flame for more than a few seconds or less...now I can't change that, and fighting mages is almost impossible for me.
Thanks to Fooser, however, I now know how to hit through the annoying two shield thing.
