I didn't mean to start a Martin bashing session.
While I do find his sarcasm ammusing, it's kind of annoying when YOU are the one it is directed at.
(see topic titled "I'm outta here")

I must appologize to Martin. I didn't mean to single him out. I was referring to all the GMs and Mods and was just using him as an example.

But after staying away for awhile to think about things, I see that I was the one who was wrong.
There does seem to be a lot of unecesary posts in the proposals.

I also came up with some advice for players (myself included), GMs, and board Moderators.
You can take it or leave it, it's your choice, that's what advice is for.
I strongly add, this is MY opinion, yours may differ. You know what they say "Opinions are like a#@holes, everybody has one and they all stink."


Players:
Use the search function.
Do not post items in the proposals that has already been discussed over and over.

Understand that the GMs have a lot on the table right now and things are still Use the search function. in the building stage. Just because a good ideal is not in effect right now doesn't mean that it wont be in the future.

Notice on the home page it clearly states that the game is recomended for ages 16 and over. No one is saying you can't play if you are under 16, but maybe you should refrain from posting it the proposals unless it is a very, very, very, good ideal.

And finally one I am going to work harder on. Spend more time Use the search function. in the game and less time on the forums. In the past I have done just the opposite, because the skill system is just way too hard and I was hoping it would change before I start playing too much. But now I have decided to spend less time on the forums and more time in the game trying to work on these darned skills.
(how do you like the subliminal messages?)

GMs and Moderators:
Don't be too swift to ban someone for off topic posts. Some of them are rather amusing and helps to add a lighter side to a dull or angry conversation.
If the majority of the players are begging for a change, don't turn it down because of personal opinions. If a lot of people are suggesting it, then maybe it's not a bad ideal.
Try to understand why people keep bringing up old stuff over and over. It's like my grandpa used to say,

If at first you don't succeed try again, If you throw a piece of chewing gum on the wall it probably will not stick the first time. But if you keep throwing it over and over it will eventually stick.

finally, you all are doing a great job, Illarion is awesome, keep up the good work.

Let me first point out that I do not and I did never feel bashed. I can bear that, I know that a lot of people do not like my way of adressing people (whereas others do like it, it's like everything else in our world, isn't it?) especially because of some sarcastic or strange remarks of mine. I do not care and if you don't like it, well, don't care about me.

Your advices are nice, I like them, anywayI think that's what I posted on the proposal board.

The reason why I get angry about off topic posts is that I read every posting completely on selected boards (like this).
My time to work for Illarion is limited. If you write too much OOC on the boards, this whole time is used up (for nothing useful!) and there is NO time to develop the client any furter. If you even post more, there isn't even time to read the postings in time, so that I may read them a few days after they are posted and will answer a lot delayed (same for emails).
If I use my whole Illarion time for "funny" OOC postings (I prefer calling most of them dumb, not funny), I loose my fun in Illarion more and more, so I will again limit my time to dedicate to this game.

Its up to all players how it is handled. I doubt that the situation for other development team members is completely different.

I started with this game because I wanted to programm a game. Right now I do programming about 10% of the time and get annoyed by players on the boards, emails ans PMs almost the whole other 90%. This does no good to my motivation to do anything creative for the game.
