The Celebration - the party and ceremony

Post by Astral »

To celebrate Inioch Hope, Roke, and myself coming into the old half of players, we are organizing a party for some odd in-game reason to celebrate this.  This will take place the weekend after the 20,000 numbers come out.  More details on the SoC site.

Well... When do you expect the 20,000 Numbers to come out?

For everyone that has the idea "oh well, lets speed this up and create 100 nonsense characters to boost the numbers up a bit" - I will find and punish you.

well.. what is old really? WHEN is person old?
what is the glory of being old?
oldness is in your mind, when you feel old, you ARE old.
and other way around.

"the old that is strong does not wither"

about the 20'000 , maybe in few monts?
now we are going i the 14'000 - 15'000 , rigth?
we've gained... about 1066.375+ new charas monthly since i came (in average), if we believe my humble calculations. i migth be wrong , maths arent my thing , really.

9965 times 2 = 19930

so... when numbers higher than that come out, i am in the old half

@Bror:
I have no idea when those numbers will come out, so it will be the weekend after they are spotted.  And nobody is planning to 'speed up the process'.

@Astral: "And nobody is planning to 'speed up the process'. "
I doubt the "nobody" in this sentence. I am not telling that you are planning to do this, but as an administrator of Illarion I have seen very silly things that people care about, like
- creating dozends of nonsense characters to receive a specific number
- posting dozends of senseless posts every day, just to increase your "post count"
....
Things like these waste every players ressources and time and I won't tolerate that.

@Bror, heh heh heh... how did you ever guessed?  Well, I've only created three, and it was like one daily just for a pathetic attempt to get 9999, but then I gave up :)  I won't do that ever again, its way too hard and time consuming for me...
Is there any way we can delete unused characters?
-yes, I want to find out on that also, please tell us Bror?

I believe you can email him with name and password to ask for deletion if I'm not mistaken.

I have never had any other character than Udan.
I think its more fun when you only have one.

I'm not your opinion, Udan. My main character is Sun, but I also have some others and from time to time I like to play them 'cause they are really different to each other. It makes fun to be somebody you can never be in RL.

I am the same opinion like you Sun - i like to do "Surplus-Reality"(1) that is a way to play roles you never can do in RL. And the other thing is the more you know about you allocated rules/chrs the more you can be holistic in your own RL beeing.

(1) That is a declaration for Roleplaying like Moreno prefered it and a part of the human beeing

yes , i think also that having multiple chars can be lot more fun than just only one, i have...
more than three, but lower than ten.
its really fun to have completely diffrent kind of charas , all of the chars that i've played have been somewhat different than others , wich i think gives me more understanding and perpective to other peoples roleplaying.

When I was talking about creating senseless characters to receive a certain number, I meant creating 30 characters in a row with names like a, aa,ab,ac,ad,ae,af.....
With posting senseless postings I meant no recent postings (although many are senseless, but I just delete them these days). In former times, there was a board title and picture for every poster, keyed to the amount of posting they made. Pople just postet 20 times a day to gain a new title.
But I have seen similar things nowadays too, like posting "When I post this on this board, I am the last one who posted something on every board"....

I expect the party to be in about 2 weeks.  I will probably set an exact date soon so people can attend.

Two weeks? I doubt that we will have 5000 new characters withing 2 weeks. That would be about 350 characters per day. I think 20 weeks sounds more real.
