I have not registered thus far, but I am in the application process.
I am Vorkoon, an elven herb gatherer and protector of peace. You may catch me muttering words from a holy manuscript, but just as well my violent words upon fatefull steps.. From one moment to the next, I may seem at complete odds with my preaching. But don't let this fool you, my temperament can flare, but my adament abidance to the order is strict. Pay no more heed to me than the words of a wanderer, they're only words. We're people, imperfect in all our ways. Tomorrow I may go, lose myself in the dark hollows of the thicket. What am I looking for? Maybe the quiet places, or maybe I simply want to observe herds of deer make their way across the valley. Whatever it is, it is my sanity. Without it, my grip turns rusty and my wit fails me. While I deal this venture, I pick herbs and study this fine art. It is an art! Have you ever looked a plant over, sharply? There is an order here, down to the pores of the leaf and the arms of the root. And there is more to be had than heavenly art, there is nature juice, for sure! This is a gift handed down to us from above.. ask me sometime and I will present you with a broad display of my collection and services.
My question is in regard to herbs. What is the implementation of them therein?
My char is a brother of nature. What this means is that he hears the call of nature, a spirit that serves as the voice of our planet. The voice plays many roles, it comes and goes. Sometimes the voice is a dream, a butterfly, a storm, while other times it is direct, yet distant all at once.
My background:
I'm a programmer. Right now I am a student, working for a transfer degree. My degree is undecided, but I have a 2-year associates degree in microcomputer programming. If I had more time and were more motivated, I might help the team with Illarion. I also have my own simple rpg project, if the urge emerges. Thus far, the urge is silent. In my own rpg, the continent of Endon is primal game for the player. Here dreams are made, lives are lost. The title of my rpg was to be "no comment", its such a good title, it must remain undisclosed!! Lol. It even has a design document, though brief (The format is fairly good, tho).
I like a good story. I prefer to play a role that I deeply feel passionate about. The fact that roleplaying is enforced here at Illarion, for me is only another important factor in my choice to apply. How that will be maintained, I have no clue. It is like asking of the grand sage,
"Could mankind deny its nature, to save itself?"
Our nature is this unrelenting force to expand our borders, grow and emerge victorious. Knowledge is power. Pride is our driving force. Instead of using our knowledge to create Eden, we step aside and use it for control, lust, so forth. Thus, at the cost of health and spirit, we drive ourselves into uncontrollable bliss and damnation. But, again, isn't this our nature? To ultimately spoil the gift? Despite the argument, I desist.. God is the only true voice. This is my testament.
God is the answer, pride is the deceiver.
There're those who look to mankind for answers, and there're those who look to God.. To be honest, I in part believe in the phrase "God helps those who help themselves". However, it was the great pride of the evil serpent that established its eventual end..
Why do some feel, "uncomfortable", around me? Is it my words? I speak from the heart. I am only a man, afterall. For me it is.. *alone*.. I am pointlessly swimming through the ravaged seas, desperately looking for solid ground. My mouth is dry, soaked in sea salt, choking my body till its bitter end. My only hope, through this chaos and despair, is that God will come through the clouds, the storm swept skies, and call on me.. God will give me light, comfort, love, .. he will embrace me with loving tenderness and I will feel at home. The pains in this world will vanish, for I will see that his form was always there for me and others. This is what I long sought, through deserts filled with bone sucking fire, and exhausting seas.. long last I am home. Praise to him, my lord.

Herbsss... Yess, I know herbsss...
I gather them along the water and grind them up in my mortar with my pestle, then I mix them together and pour them into bottlesss.
Sssome of them will make you heal while otherss will make you ssick. Ssome give the magesss their power, and ssome make arrowss fly fasster.
It just materss which of the herbss you mix together.
Sssome of the ssimple oness just require one herb, but mosst require two mixed together.
There were a lot of herbss growing along the sswamp where I grew up, and I got interessted in them and sstarted gathering them at a young age, and mixing them together to make potionss.
Be ssure that you do not read in the library or read a magic book before you read your first book of herbsss, whichever it iss. You can buy one from the human in the sshop for 200 gold.
If you read a magic book firsst, you will be a mage, and will never be able to mix herbsss, but if you read about hearbss firsst, you will be a druid.
