possible bug

Post by Crocket »

I may have just found a bug with the zombies.

I was knocked unconscious by a zombie but after I was unconscious I could still see blood splatters on the zombie like I was still hitting it then it was killed.

I don't know if it is a bug or if maybe someone else was somewhere I couldn't see them using a missile weapon.

I think it actually is a bug. I didn't think about that one. That's for bringing it to my attention, I will fix it now.

@ Dunthor
all items laying on the ground will disappear after an amount of time. This is normal. It is like rotting away.

Hmmm, isn't it possible to make the time for things laying on the ground a little bit longer? Now the tools breaks away and not so much things laying around, so would be nice to double the time in which things rot way.
Please think about that.

Who digs with the shovel on the ground anyway?

It doesn't really make sense to dig up a piece of coal/ore, put your shovel away, take it out and dig something up, put it away, etc. It also doesn't make sense to use the shovel while it is in your bag.

Idea!
The shovel must be in your hands while you mine, as it makes no sence being able to weild a sword while mining, choping wood etc

It should take both hands to use all tools because i doubt anyone can dig very deep with one hand or chop down a tree with one hand..

or would that be too much messin around?

I've seen many people mine by placing the shovel on the ground. I think it would be a good idea to make it somehow where shovels could not be used while on the ground. Though, I'm sure it would be hard to do. Many do this because they wish to obtain items within the rock faster. It does help many people, but for some reason it doesn't seem right.

As I said, it probally won't happen. It could though for the future. I'm thinking this could be a hard task to accomplish. :(

It doesn't bring anything, except for those people who are too lazy to move their mouse pointer over their screen. The speed at which you can mine depends on the speed at which commands are processed and this is slower then you can mine with your shovel in your hand.
However, because this is a highly unrealistic behaviour this has been discussed many times before and will eventually be built in at some point.

Well, mining with shovel on the ground has its downsides too.
The 'delay' being worst, the faster you mine, the bigger the delay gets - So a real powerminer will be defenseless for a quite time.

i sugest getting some bottles of that nice dwarfen beer and see how many those powerminers can stand... ;) (just throw them onto the shovel, they won't know what hit em ;) and they will eventually cease this action if they die all the time ;) )
