This need to be sorted - I getting fed up

Post by Lord Dark Sunrise »

This is not fear! Today, while playing as dark sunrise, I was accused of breaking the rules. First I would like to know if this is braking the rules :-

I was cast apon in the town 3 times and ask the person to stop. Then he cast 2 more times so I cast YEG KEL to stop him while I asked again. Then he stopped. May I add that I did not damage and stopped a fight.

Although I only casted to protect my self and stop a fight, because it was in the town I was accused of breaking the rules. But the person that cast on me first was not?!?!

Is it wrong to stop a fight if the only way you can is with magic?

Or should I have sat there and died?

I’m not one to break the rules anymore because I’ve already had a warning, so I’ve read the rules through and through.

I must add…..

I was pushed around a lot after the casting, but I put up with it!
Then I walked out of the town and was followed and cast apon. But instead of attacking, I asked if this person wanted to duel and he said no. so I left it!

I don’t think many other players would be that nice!

Just cus I play evil characters, doesn’t mean I’m first to blame. There’s a lot of players out there ready to attack at the littlest thing. How can I evil role-play without beefing attacked then blamed for it.

I’m not going to post names because I don’t want other player getting hassle. This problem will take time and telling on other players won’t help!

Don't mind as long as you aren't accused of rule braking by a GM.

The non- casting - rule is a player made rule in town. The non-casting-part is quite logical too, because when you talk in town, and another person casts three screens away, you are still spammed. For acting against this rule, you can be killed (even by a GM), but not banned. If you are attacked, you can cast for self defense, but better watch out to have some witnesses around who can proof you were unguilty. You should not be blamed for self defense.

I react the same way you do in such a case, but when attacked repeatedly, i tend to roast the attacker hehe...

Not saying that you're wrong or shouldn't defend yourself, but just remember that killing someone to defend yourself also makes you a killer.

"How can I evil role-play without beefing attacked then blamed for it."
In fact, that is a very good question and I don't have a good answer for you myself. When you're a "pure evil" character, I wouldn't be surprised if a brave knight or a "good guy" tries to kill you every chance they get, becauseif you're evil they know that your goal is something bad, such as take over world, or fill it with darkness, etc. If you don't want to get attacked, then I think it was stupid to let everybody know you're evil by writing "A great evil has arrived, lord of all that is evil, etc.." on the guild board. It would be pretty strange if this king of all evil type person was walking around the town smithing and shopping, and all the good people know he's evil but just ignores his presence.

Here are some tips and suggestions I have for evil-roleplay:

-If you want to be "evil" and don't want to get attacked on sight, then DON'T announce to the public that you're evil.

-Try not to play this "supreme being of pure evil" type character. A person like that won't have much objective than something that will ultimately lead to destroying everybody (which can be very shallow and obviously has a lot of problems to rp) . Its possible to roleplay this kind of character very well and have fun, but most people here aren't capable of doing this well, so I don't recommend it.

-Instead of playing as "evil" play as other "bad" people instead, such as an corrupt polititian, a liar, a rich snob, a traitor, a greedy merchant, or anything else where your goal doesn't have to be a "take over world and make everybody fear you" type thing.

-As a bad character, don't hope that people will FEAR you for your strength or power. Its very hard to achieve that kind of impression without showing your "power" by killing people, which will be a problem. You might try to get power through influence, but since most people who gain a lot of influence or power are "good guys", as a "baddie" you won't be able to keep that kind of power and be evil at the same time. One way to get feared could be for example to play a cannibal, but you would be feared for gruesome and disgust, not "power".

-A way to gain power is to get political power. There isn't much politics in the town right now, but there is a guild council starting so you might be able to make use of that.

Eh, i don't know why you put up with it the third time. My character is a good guy, spends his time helping and monitering the scene. But, there is a line which when crossed, will bring about anothers destruction. If a person ignores your warnings, and continues to attack, then you must set an example. I would have simply butchered the guy, and then given him a "I told you what would have should you persist in your foolishness." line as he floated around dead.

You can't coddle morons, they don't learn. Yes, some might be new but for the love of god, they know it's not right to run around killing people. It's a conscious choice on their behalf, and as such, they can be made to pay for their actions. I'll be damned if someone attacks my character, and i'll have him just stand there with a smile saying "Oh you brute you, be away! Shoo now, shoo..."

Maybe post a Rpg warning like i did. i clearly stated what would happen should i witness a murder or someone tries to fight me. And very few ever murder around me, and to be honest, it's made me rather bored..but hey, the crime rate is down atleast. (Hard to Rp anything when everyone speaks german around you, and all you know is what yes, hello, and no mean. <small sigh>)
