The Dhal'manuuk Order

Post by Kugar »

~ Several scrolls can be found on bookshelves across Illarion. One may surmise they have been placed there by loyal soldiers of the order ~

Prison dweller,

As you continue your futile attempts to battle that which you fear, even when that which you fear offers you the hand of salvation, consider that it does not have to be this way. Those revered in your prison realms and, your precious gods of young, have continued to lure you on a path of negligence and insolence. The lands fall to ruin as children of these failed gods repeat the mistakes of the past, turning their backs on enlightenment. False prophets among you even have the gall to claim to speak to the Five. Those that forged us! Such false prophets would do well to know that the Five do not care to communicate which such weak, meaningless creatures. These false prophets, with eyes aglaze, speak merely with demonic entities, tempting them further down a path of suffering that they welcome gladly. To deceive such a weak mind is child's play.

Ask yourselves why your world tries evermore to destroy you. Open your eyes to the reality that surrounds. The destruction of Illarion: a plague and the coming flood, most recent? Rest assured, this long line of decay has been anything but accidental. Should you deny and continue these attempts to thwart them, the Five shall stop at nothing until you are no more. The elements fight evermore to rid the old flesh that refuses to adapt. Any fool can see this clearly! We are merely penance for the continued collapse of this sullied civilization.

Your leaders have taught you to destroy that which you can learn and relish from. What fate is this? That they deny the inevitable requirement to rid the old ways and beckon forth a new age. Is that truly conducive to a path of knowledge pursuit? Ask yourself why they crave the holding of fragile peace and deny you ultimate utopia. Trapped in your prison realms whilst we unite the wildlands... This is no war but a slaughter! You must only reach out and accept the fate that is already forged for you. Anything less shall be viewed as an abomination and result in yet more suffering, until you beg for our forgiveness. Even then, it may be too late.

The architects of the new age require those strong of vessel and strong of mind. The ascension of the mind and power of the vessel is a gift freely given on the path we welcome. Eternal life and wisdom. Power that never stops growing. You need only seek out the Lord and make it a reality.

Surrender yourself to the Dhal'manuuk. Welcome your ascension.

As she spots the scroll and reads over, hot rage boils over and she is tempted to just tear it in hundred pieces.
But her cold mind wins over and she folds the pamphlet to show it to Katharina and the Queen.

Bastard !! You and your minion did only run last night !

The witch holds one of the parchments in her new metal hand and grins...

It will be a pleasure seeing the fire burn you and all your friends into ash!

Kyre mumbles as dark eyes light with mischief and secret pleasure while her wand tempts with it's flames.

- Pestilence -

When one hears of pestilence, they may very well recall upon the name of Nalzaxx Nerenghast. He who mortals call 'the Lord of Pestilence'. They who started with nothing only to rise among mortals and welcome their ascension. Though, whilst an impressive figure in our history and, an exceptional mind among fools, the origins of pestilence reaches rather farther than that.

It was Eldan whom contrived the concept of poison and Ushara, Tanora and Findari whom used their combined power to manifest it upon our world. The objective was to use this deadly concoction to rid the sentient flesh that had brought about continued harm and shame upon their mortal plane. Moreover, the ungrateful failure unto the endowment of mortal life and wisdom itself. Floods, storms and famine are mere warnings of the Five. Outbreaks of plagues, such as has been experienced on these lands, have instead been used to devastate previous, similarly failed civilizations. Any who lived out the days of Gobaith, the sunken land of 'hope', may even feel a nostalgic haze wash over them from reading such words. Brágon, however, having nothing to do with poison's conceptualization, merely observes his elemental kin in shared acrimony. For it is Brágon's position that such a fate is too meager, temporary and disproportionate for such misconduct among mortals. Instead, it would be the rage that builds within Brágon's molten fire that would boil and bring about absolute destruction, when the time to deliver the final blow of judgement arrives. Do consider why the plague of Runewick came to be. Consider the devastation removing the column of the new age has caused. Consider that you may have thwarted the plague but left Brágon with no choice. Consider that the coming flood is a warning.

And so, prison dweller, you would be wise to know that time of the final blow is drawing near. Waste no more time among those who would chain you to this fate. Know that the failure of your leaders does not have to be a shared responsibility. Understand that the curse of Gobaith did not die with the isle. It is all connected. Nothing is by accident!

Surrender yourself to the Dhal'manuuk. Welcome your ascension.

(( english below ))

“Dear Mr. Gray

Inara finds one of this documents ... again, but this time her temper boils over with anger and she needs some time to get her rage under control. But then she takes a quill and parchments to write something down, several times, to put them beneath the documents, first in Cadomyr and the Hemp.

“Dear Mr. Gray,

You are a liar.
You're not even know what gods do and what not, what they wish, if they hear and listen, maybe beside Moshran. I do not say that the gods not brought the downfall of Gobaith, nor do I say that the gods not had shown explicit their disapproval to us.
Nevertheless Runewick, here you claim false out of malice. All things which did happen in and around Runewick and Yewdale, all what will happen in future, its in our own responsibility.
The true fact is - the Five did answer to our calls for help and insight.
As the fire broke out, as teh dark column and portals got removed, there was Brágon. who did steer the fire in another direction, avoiding Runewick. There are enough eye witnesses for it. There were also visions from a raising army in front of Letma. They got even beaten there.
The Five did show mercy und blew away the poisoned fumes from the land. Likewise there are also enough witnesses.
Furthermore they did grant us a deeper insight for the things to come, through visions and ... more.
The gods are still with us, but they aren't clear our dirty rubble, cause if it is in our hands to do it, we should do it ourselfs! Maybe with a little support.
The Gods are here, they listen, they reaching out a helping hand if you have the faith and talk to them.
This is my strong conviction. I have seen more then enough evidence, even if my faith doesn't need it.

Glory to Brágon, the god of the fire and the father of dragons.

May you find your final end in his holy flames, as punishment for the lies and actions.

~Inara Lacy Valdris~

Oh and I am sure one of you treacherous henchmen will find this and hand it out to you.“

Another restless night, disrupted by nightmares, makes Amelia search for a book to distract her mind, when one the parchments falls in her hands. Reading over it, she is shocked and starts to search every bookshelf for them. Once collected, she burns them in the kitchen, except for one of each, to show them to Oxiana. Upset and restless, she wanders around in the kitchen, before taking up parchment and quill. During the following hours, she writes several parchments in her well-known handwriting, to replace the other ones. One she will hang at the town walls, next to the gates of Galmair.

Also, some are delivered to a dear friend, by a sparror hawk, to be distributed everywhere.

Dear friend,

dark forces are trying to divide us. Try to push us away from our beliefs, our gods. They play with our fears, our pain, our anger and try to darken our souls and cloud our minds. They spread lies, saying the gods left us and only punish us at will. Don’t fall for such heresy!

The great Five still care for us! The ritual performed for Runewick and its result shows prove of this. The poison clouds on the land got blown away. The upcoming flood is not a warning from the gods, they even warned us from it because it is inevitable, connected to an event, we mortals caused ourselves. With the events in Runewick, a mighty mountain spirit was awoken and its mountain will rise. But it’s an act of creation, more than an act of destruction. Eldan himself gave advice within a vision to one of his humble servants, how to avoid devastation.

What these so-called saviours do is twist the facts, using them to attack the beliefs in our hearts and turn them against us! But we must not falter! Stay true to the gods, be it the Young or the Old! Stay true to yourself and don’t let them lure you into darkness! Stand firm in your beliefs and have trust in them and they will guide us through these dark times! Let’s stand together against them! You are not alone!

Inara welcomed the young hawk she did know all so well. Freeing him from his burden,
she offered some pieces of fresh meat as a reward. Then she got on her way to distribute
Amelia's parchments in Cadomyr, Runewick and the Hemp.

Deep in the molten bowels of Letma, where the Undead Lord had spent most of his time laying in wait and preparing for the next stage of the eternal war, representatives from the factions uniting under the forces of darkness had gathered to plot their barbaric, heinous deeds. To some, the Lord's absence on the outer-lands had come somewhat as a surprise. This creature had been on the war path for many months and then... Silence? Though, to those considered as veterans, those whom have dwelled upon the land of Illarion for any meaningful time, such a thing wasn't considered to be foreign. At least, not when this creature was involved. Always coming back more powerful, destructive and determined than before...

Leaning a bony hand upon his unholy, shimmering staff, the Undead Lord stood dead center of the group, backed by a blood thirsty army of unholy acolytes, lichs and sorcerers - the infamous legion of the Dhal'manuuk. These faithful servants would chant his and Prea's name at any given opportunity and without pause. Yet it was with the raising of the Lord's claw that they would come silent in respite.

"Soon, my legion, the days of Blood shall be upon us... chsk... and, FINALLY, the next step towards the new age shall commence! The time has come, my fellow architects, for the unraveling of the FINAL DEVASTATION!"

Glaring over his audience, the Lord strained his diminishing flesh to sneer resentfully at them. Those meeting his gaze would simply bow their heads subserviently, often-times in fear of repercussions. Even if the Lord was a wicked master, they had found themselves with little choice but to do his bidding. Swerving his free hand then toward the representatives and, showing them the flame of the dark void that danced obediently upon his palm, he continued:

"Make no mistake... chsk... The mortal sullied FOOLS believe themselves steadfast. Hah! How easy they forget the horrors inflicted upon them. Nevertheless, it is by the failure of few minions that embolden them! Indeed, whilst Nostarion and few other select minions may have been unsuccessful in their mission on the last calendar cycle blood days, failing to mortal hands, it matters very little... chsk. Their purpose has been served! A prophecy unwavering. Merely meat shield devout sent to the slaughter... Pawns... MORTALS! We of the undead come in numbers ETERNAL!"

The acolytes snapped their jaws shut in unison, brandishing their weapons ready.

"Nay, that was merely foreplay! What is important about the last cycle was that the so-called heroes of Illarion were shown, yet again, a meager fraction of Prea's almighty power - when their precious teleportation devices were rendered useless! How humorous it was to watch as they fell to their knees in shock and awe. HAH! Sacks of flesh left with nowhere to go and, ultimately, torn apart by your unholy brethren! Chsk... Oh, how my black heart aches for them. Yet, even so, our continued warnings were then and, have continued to be, met with an endless, futile confrontation... chsk. THIS, I cannot abide."

"Since those days, have I watched the sullied mortals fall to pieces, evermore aware of their failings and weakness. Causing divisions among themselves. Even their spineless leaders flee their positions, in fear, with even less worthy usurpers that inevitably crawl from their holes. Yes, it is true that they are weaker... These pathetic creatures have been getting weaker year by bloody year! Yet, still there are few among those who retain breath to fight! How unfortunate it is for them that the stage has been set, minions of the Dhal'manuuk, to paint these woeful lands of Illarion with a sea of blood. I command no stone remain dry... My throne awaits me and I remain impatient!"

Retracting each cracking finger of his free-hand to consume the dark void within it, the Lord's eyes were soon adorned in streaks of blood. He would then address the representatives individually where they stood.

"Blood elves! Dark Paladins! Gather any mortal vessels you can get your hands on and remove their sentience! Forge an army of the undead that shall march in a blood thirsty tidal wave toward the desert... Awaken the whisper in the dark. Bring forth the mighty flood!"

"Salavesh! Raise your unholy servants... Enslave more dragons still so that my legion may have ample transport to breach the crumbling walls of the pompous! The mind of the storyteller shall be MINE!"

"Axtblatt! You would do well not to fail me this time around... Be damned your god-fearing warriors. Command your army to sharpen their axes or, mark my words, Hammerfall will live up to its name. Prea is their god now!"

"Legion! I command thee to take no prisoners... The time for synthetic negotiations has come to its end. When the blood days are upon us, come forth in numbers to set out and DEEESTRRROYYY!!!"

With a hideous cackle, the Undead Lord swung his mighty sword above his head, to the accompanying sound of clanging and odious fanfare.

HAIL PREA! HAIL LORD GRAY!

The vicious days of blood were coming...

A parchment is left at the Hemp Necktie Inn for all roaming druids to read

All druids and medic students,

I have a very bad feeling about staying here..I feel there is some evil in the air but can't place what or when. Just to be safe, let's move to a town again until after MAS?
