This is a short idea. Let's make wrestling a blunt damage skill used when a char has an empty hands and wears any gloves. Level of a gloves makes attack and parry better.

Wrestling is currently completely useless. So yeah, it needs to be improved. The question is how strong should it be in relation to fighting with weapons?

A possible way to implement this is what about wrestling being a general damage type so it doesn't have a weakness or strength when fighting against armor.
Why? Well you cant socket gems into your fists, and gems in gauntlets already have defensive properties. (I dont think we should include gem boost in wrestling)

Wrestling could be more than just another HP damage dealer, instead it could have different effects. Also we would avoid the question about wich armor-classes it would effect more than others. A lvl 100 Wrestler should be able to stun an untrained defender (parry + highest armor class skill)/2 = 0) 100%. While a trained defender (parry + armor/2)=50 should be subdued in his actions ~50% of the time - and so on.
Well it propably needs to be balanced but that sounds to me like a reasonable calculation to begin with (i have no idea how to include the bonus from items yet...).

- Most of the damage could aim for the AP of an opponent, since wrestling is often associated with grappling or subduing an opponent.
- I think there could be a very high multiplier for critical attacks, so only those would do considerable damage to HP.
- Special attacks could be knocking an Opponent to the ground or stunning it.

This is my personal idea. I think if wrestling is maxed in a character it should be equal to mid weapon strength without gems. It is possible in the future to make a graphic with wrestling gloves with gems but not needed. Used to be the stronger the wrestling skill, the easier it would be to get out of a rope.. this would also be a nice addition to add if we have the use of rope again to tie up.

I like the idea of knocking down. I would say wrestler could damage only to 50% of hp of his opponent and any next good hit would knock down the opponent. If enemy is already 50% or below of hp damaged by another player then its counting to knock down also.
