Small Improvements on Character Creation?

Post by Q-wert »

Eyo. Recently I had a friend with no clue about the game install it and did quietly watch him work through account and character creation.
A few stones he stumbled over, some with tiny ideas from me on how to put them away:
  • - After account creation (and not verifying it by clicking on the link in the mail) he could log on to the account with the client, but not on the website. It took a while to figure out what was missing. A message on login (client as well as website) that the verification from the email was needed might be helpful.

    - After logging in to the client and finding the empty character list, he was clueless on what to do next. Without a hint from my side he would not have figured to look at his account on the website. A link to the character-page on the site in the client would be helping.

    - Minus ("-") was no accepted character for the character name for his lizard. Nothing major, but caused an raised eyebrow.

    - One of the lizard hair graphics did black out the whole character in the preview. Might have been a browser issue, as I could not recreate the problem on my pc.
And more of a small note in the end: For attributes he carefully looked through the presets for a small while and selected one (a quite bad one) without making any changes to it. I would believe this to be common behaviour among newcomers ("Hey, those are presets, they can't be too bad."), so I'd like to give this a nudge.
