Meine Schuld erdrückt mich... bitte, lasst mich mein Gewissen erleichtern."
Avariel stood in the mine of the jail and broke ore out of the rocks to keep himself buisy and in shape. While he was hitting the stones in his own rhythm he thought about his situation. His conversation with Gina yesterday didnt take the course he desired, but it had been satisfying. He convinced Gina of his remorse and she would plead for him before the Queen. That was his chance. Avariel smiled, as he whiped the sweat off his forehead. Well, he really did regret his attacks, but not because he was in the wrong or because the attacked persons didnt deserve it... no, he did regret his impatience and the unnecessary violence... he had more important things to do then hurting stupid, unknowing elfs or dwarfs just to satisfy himself at the sight of their blood. He had to prepare his tasks... but he had to escape to do so. Suddenly he thought of a person, who might be able to help him. Smiling he put down his pick axe and went to the guard. "Guard, please let me talk to a priest. My guilt is killing me.... please let me reliefe my concience."

The grumpy guard hands him quill and parchment. "Yet you are not finally convicted. A letter is allowed to be written we cannot deny that. Your writtings will be reread before it's being delivered."
After he restocks the supply of dry bread in Avariel's cell, he waits in his usual patience until Avariel's letter is finished.
Re: Im Gefängnis - In jail
Fiona sat at her favourite place on the town wall, staring into the desert. Slowly her confusion vanished, and her thoughts became surprisingly clear again. The elfess shook her head resignedly. She would give Avariel a second chance, of course. But she did not believe that he had been serious about any of the things he had said to Gina. Every time she thought about the last few days, she felt an explosive mixture of cold fury and disappointment that made her freeze inside. Fiona wrapped her red cloak tighter around her shoulders. A bitter smile played on her lips. With frightening certainty she knew that the second chance would not help Gina and Avariel, that he would betray her friend again. Her eyes flashed with fury, and coldly she thought: >>Well, if he does I'll make him regret it. There will be no place where he can hide from me, even if I have to search every cave, every single rathole on this continent.<<

After pinning Meriel's testimony to his series posts about Avariel's case, S'rrt contemplates on the way he's handled his reportage. Sitting with a glass of wine at a table in the Unicorn Lion in Cadomyr, he regrets having to use violence which the Archmage scolded him for afterward.
S'rrt believes he had good reasons, though. After all, the elf tried to harm a mother of two children before, who happened to be walking around in Runewick at the same time as him. Sure he coud have spoken to a guard or the Archmage or...
"Bah", he thinks. "He would just have run away for the third time and caused more trouble. I'm glad I took him down when I did, even if it made me look like a barbarian. It's not like it's anything new to me..." He takes a generous gulp of the wine. "Majority of the people always seemed to be against me when I was a Guard Captain on Gobaith. People would rather defend an innocent-looking criminal than assist the authority."
His mind wanders back into his glory days as a Guard Captain until he finally gets to the end of his drink, which prompts him to head to the Liberty Quarry carrying a pick in his hand and a sword at his belt.

Re: Im Gefängnis - In jail
Avariel handed his letter to the guard and went back into the mine in a good mood. But as he picked up his pickaxe a great sorrow came over him. He had done it again, he wanted to cheat on Gina again, break all his promises. She was the last person who believed that there was still anything good in him. A great rage came over him, "How can I lie to her all the time, how can I be so weak!" He hit the rock like mad and pebbles flew all over the place. "I have to stop it, I have to keep my promises!"

Re: Im Gefängnis - In jail
Avariel sat on his bed and thought about the situation. While he was sitting there a guard passed him a note. As he read the note, he had to smile. "Sweet elfess", he thought. While he was thinking about her, who wrote the lines, all in a sudden a light appeared. A flame stood in the air and formed letters, then words. Avariel read the message, then his eyes widened. His time had come.

Re: Im Gefängnis - In jail
Avariel woke up and looked around. He still was in prison. There he started to laugh until he had tears in his eyes. It had been a dream.
