Game Screen Disappears

Good evening all,

I have followed the instructions per the download page. Everything looks to be fine except that when the game loads, my window disappears. I have searched for it to no avail.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Illarion to see if that would be the case, but no.

I run Windows 8.1 - Unfortunately.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hello!

What form of Java are you running on your computer? I believe this problem can be attributed to that sometimes, if I'm not mistaken.

Another idea thrown at you.. I am not familiar with 8.1, but read where it suggested in 8 all games should be run in desktop mode. You may want to make sure that is happening also.

If still problems, search for your Illarion folder, it should be in your home folder. It will have two folders inside, one is usr and one is bin. Open the usr folder and copy and paste the error log here. It may help someone find out the problem.

I do have Java 7 on my machine and run it in desktop mode (I really hate Win 8 and don't use the start screen for anything other than getting to the desktop).

I have tried to find the folders suggested in order to post the error log but I've not been able to find it. I do have the folder which I directed the files to and there are many folders here.

I wish I could be of more help and figure out what is happening. :/

Someone suggested you should use a certain kind of java depending on your machine...

I never thought that my machine was 64-bit. How easy to assume!

I have a somewhat similar problem. Sometimes, when I launch Illarion and log in, the loading bar freezes at 100% and I can't get in the game. I have to kill the process and start again, sometimes two or three times in a row.
I'm using Linux and I'm starting the game with the Oracle version of Java 7u51.

I'm not familiar with Linux, sorry. I can think of two options.. get on irc and see if someone can help you there and/or post the problem on Mantis.

Alright, I decided to uninstall and then reinstall the game, I wasn't even able to get in the game yesterday. At the end of the installation process a window appeared saying: Installation is corrupted, try again.
I guess I try to reinstall again. Later today I will check the IRC.

EDIT: Reinstalled it again, to no avail. Every time it says that the "Installation ist fehlerhaft", Installation is corrupted. Even tried to intall in a directory set by me - didn't worked, and next time in a directory chosen by the client - didn't worked.

EDIT2: After multiple uninstalls and reinstalls I somehow managed to start the game. Everything works as should. Don't ask me why or how.
I hope it will be ok from now.
