Gemcutting?

Is there a secret way of leveling it up, or does its leveling depend on some attribute? I've cut around 50 amethysts and still not even 1 point in it

Or maybe it is a bug?

The skillgain in gemcutting depends on dexterity, see sticky post in this board. It also depends on your general level of activity, the number of actions is not relevant anymore. Your skillgain is scaled with your online time (roughly spoken), so if you do many actions in short time, you do not learn more from that then doing a normal amount of actions in the same time.
