A New Arrival

Post by Caynwyn »

The dusk was threatening to turn to night while the air was getting progressively cooler as Cay, so confident at the start of her journey, began to have serious doubts on whether she should have even started. At the very least, she should have taken the teleporter as Felix had admonished her to do since..well, since before they were married. It was always hard to describe to him how the walk through the forests gave her such peace and joy that the trip in the teleporter just wasn't the same. As another contracting pain seemed to put her belly in a vise grip overwhelmed her so much, she had to stop walking, Cay acknowledged if she had to do it over again, this entire trip to Tol to get more supplies for the hospital could have waited. Should she send a dove for Felix? As the pain eased, Cay stopped rubbing her sore belly and began to walk as swiftly as possible, again optimistically thinking she could make it to Tol then take the teleporter home all before Felix came back from his log gathering and in time to have his and Maddi's dinner ready. Glad she had left Maddi with the nanny this time, Cay was again inundated as the breath was pushed out from her lungs and a small tear ran from her eye.

You are ready to see your Mama and Papa little one?

Mumbling as she rubs her belly hard, knowing it was too late to turn back toward Trolls Bane, Cay walked on when she could...realizing her baby was ready to come into the world and like Maddi, would be born in Tol Vanima. Planning to send a dove to Felix when she was near Tol and safe...not wanting to unnecessarily worry him, Cay counted her steps knowing the way by heart as she continued to mumble.

Well, I want to see my son also...just wait a little bit longer, not much!

It had been so long since she was at Tol Vanima, Cay hoped some of the elves she met and became friends with were still there. Having a permanent invitation to come any time should have brought her back more often and Cay felt quite guilty she hadn't taken advantage of it yet with Azuros on the mainland and her family at Trolls Bane, it had been difficult to find the time. Boarding the ferry finally, Cay found herself alone in the crossing, well, her and the taciturn ferry man.

Kitten,
I'm at Tol.

The parchment remained unsigned as she allowed the dove to carry off her partially written message while another contraction interrupted her efforts

Deep in the forests of Gobaith, Felix first sees a white feather drift past the tall trees before hearing the wings of a dove while momentarily resting his axe. Reading the parchment Cay sent first had him puzzled then immediately he shook his head knowing Cay was in trouble, knowing she wouldn't have sent that parchment otherwise. Dropping logs, axe and ignoring the slow moving mule, Felix barreled through the forest yelling as he ran on his way to the nearest teleporter...

Cay!

Immediately arriving in Tol, he runs to the hall only to see one lone elf.

Have ya seen a druid, fairly short and big belly?

With the negative reply, Felix, knowing Cay was here somewhere, runs to the dock and finally sees her laying nestled near the statue holding a blanket in her arms while dark eyes look up at him from the soft forest floor as she smiles widely.

Kitten, come see your son.
