A short Address posted on walls throught Gobiath.

Post by Athian »

Dear Citizens of Gobiath:

My name is Athian Corulas; humble owner of the tavern located in Varshikar. It would seem that someone for some reason has decided that they would take it upon themselves to set my tavern and home ablaze. My policy is to allow visitors from any and all walks of life to come and go, so long as the behave properly whilst in the building. As such it is not uncommon for riff raff of various factions on the isle to use the tavern. As the ongoings of the isle are not generally my concern I find no need toss them out so long as they pay there tabs and do not cause a fuss. However it would seem that this matter regarding Trollsbane rebels and Trollsbane's government may be the cause of my current woe...and I am disheartened...I would like to blame the combatants in joust between authority and rebellion for the incident that destroyed my home...but that would be unfair. The culprit could be many people, and as such I cannot focus my ire on anyone, so I choose everyone instead.

Setting a fire is usually an assault of anonymity. The sort which is used by persons whom want to cause damage but remain hidden from punishment. As I cannot fathom the culprit of the attack coming out to admit there deed. I will attempt to stimulate a response of the general population. First I would like to state that the tavern itself was my sole property and not that of Varshikar, thus it shares no affiliation other then location and business. As such the burning of my establishment I shall view as a personal attack against myself and in this event I shall adopt a policy of overeaction. I've already overreacted in Trollsbane's library and adjacent buildings. I shall continue to "overreact" at random locations throughout Gobiath until the culprit of the attack on my establishment admits to his guilt or I simply get bored and move onto the next destructive behavior that suits my fancy. Or well at least until my tavern has been repaired.

Let us pray together for a quick and relatively painless solution to this dilemma.

Sincere Regards
Athian Corulas

Who ever destroy personal property in Varshikar will be not longer welcome and forced to pay compensation. For every useful information to catch the criminal which attack Athians tavern there will be a reward.

Leva Beliu reads the parchment pinned on the library door, shaking her head incredulously. She then removes a worn piece of rag paper and a rough charcoal pencil from her utility pouch. She writes a short note and pins it under the parchment.

*******

What kind of mage can compliment us with his sincere regards while at the same time threatening us with ruining, if not destroying, our buildings and houses? Exacting revenge, just because we are his favourite usual suspects? Not a benevolent mage, indeed. Another tyrant or bully hidden under the grey robe of the sage. We have already too many on this island!

We have many bad habits, here, in Bane, but arson is not one.
Look elsewhere, Athian, the arsonists might be right under your nose.

A word to the wise!

If arson isn't one of them, you should have seen what people tried to do to the jail.
