A great idea.
Blake Thorn will also pay twice as much as Alexander is paying to the author in exchange of a copy.
8 silvers per "Culture" book.
8 per "Myths" book.
10 per "History" book.
2 per "Guilds" book.
The books must be well written. I'll add an extra 50% if they are written in both languages.
You needn't write all these books, as much as you like.

I'll give you the short version:
'Twas an eventful day.
Souls burned, as I recall.
A mysterious fog approached the isle. It would later fill every nook and cranny in the isle. Every house, every mine, even the yard. Nowhere was safe.
I was with my friends Cawdor and Edgtho, and let me tell you something. I was not going to die that day. Now, logically speaking, where do you go when everywhere in Gobaith is going to be covered by a black vapour of death? The only place accessible that isn't in Gobaith. We hurried to the lighthouse and used the statue there. Luckily all of us were able to enter, and we sat in the Magic Academy cafeteria while the rest of the world were cursed. It was at this point that we noted that the Academy was a brilliant sight. It would be nice to own such a piece of land.
As I recall, Edgtho Hlayn exclaimed, "There is NO ONE here!". At first we had plans to just use the Academy for our own since noone used it in those times anymore. However, we noted that if the mages should ever return it would be rather bad for us, so we planned to build a cottage.
We then after a while decided on bigger things. We never much liked Bane as an alternative to a place of our own so we decided to start a town instead. We sat in Troll's Bane throwing out random ideas for names before deciding on Caelum. "The citizens fled from Trollsbane to the free land of Caelum". We formed The Caelum Union, and raised quite a bit of money. We had about 20 members at the time. We had the appeal of having Aokan, a demon, on our side. People were interested in the free town of the secret organisation housing a demon.
At the time we had:
Cawdor, Edgtho Hlayn, Myself, Zharukkal, Gorfang Redskull, Turonga Mudwater, Drex Thaendrak, Peter Kelly, Arganis, Mark Pordo, Elladan Ancalime, Avalyon el'Hattarr, Dominic Fisher, Magnus Magnol, Amras Seregon and a bunch of others. These are only the ones I can remember, since the Caelum Union records have been destroyed now.
Later on we drew up a contract with Dusty Bottoms, which granted us the deeds to the land of Northern Briar. Later we were forced into a contract with the Temple forming County Briar (Hellbriar, Greenbriar and Briar). The halflings were very good to us and people have often proposed Caelum siege Greenbriar and claim the whole island, but I feel I grow a great debt to that isle. I made a promise to myself that should Greenbriar every be attacked I would bring Caelum to its aid.
The next parts of Caelum's history were bad. Cawdor joined the temple and recruited new people, then tried to elect me out of Caelum. I won the internal vote, however. I'm not sure, as this was long ago and all I remember is blind rage, especially what with the news of Alli and Aokan's fates, but I may have left Caelum for a while at this point. It did not last for long, however, as Cawdor's blackstone was removed and we reformed. Documented history up to this point had all been wiped out by Cawdor.
Documented history begins here.
((October 2006)):
We drew up our charter. We also originally had this plan for building:
A wall, with moat (which we scrapped).
No windows on the wall to avoid mage teleportations.
Locked doors.
If we could ever have some sort of drawbridge we wanted the drawbridge switch to be downstairs.
A guard would stand upstairs next to window.
The citizen would stand on a marked spot on the floor where the guard can see him. If he was not a citizen, he would be allowed access. If not, he would asked to leave. If he refused, the town guard would be notified. However, we found this method required manpower etc. and a depot and lock worked just as well as long as noone lost their key. Caelum was to be an impenetrable utopia. Once a portal was able to be summoned there we also noted that that idea had become redudant.
((March 2007)):
The senate was elected.
Amras Seregon, Duchan an Infarion and Dominic Fisher were chosen.
Silas Farron was Chief Advisor.
Evan Ross was made the head of the Guard.
The laws were written (AND STILL STAND!)
((April 2007)):
We gave permission for Dusty to build a tavern in Caelum. It never occured and we ended up building The Rotting Flesh tavern much later.
((September 2007)):
A poll was taken of the members of Caelum:
Invade Troll's Bane: 3 votes.
Don't invade Troll's Bane: 0 votes.
Only if Siltaris wins the election: 5 votes.
"The streets will run red with BLOOD!" - DF
Siltaris won the election. However, as fate would have it, Siltaris was passing myself and four others as we were passing through the graveyard.
I was banned from town at the time because I covered the library in illusion flames and walled myself in with Brer and Fooser, protesting Cromwell's imprisonment leading up to the election (Siltaris's major opposition was Cromwell). They said if I removed the walls they would free Cromwell and not ban me. She herself swore that the gods may smite her if she went against her word. People should not make such statements so easily. They tried to capture me but with the help of the door opening spell (I'm sure that's the only time it's ever saved anyone's life) and the teleportation spell I managed to escape unharmed. Cromwell was, indeed, freed.
Anyhow, we'd just come through the TB teleporter from Caelum to go to the yard. Siltaris said this was on Troll's Bane property and attacked us. A foolish mistake. Now, she was enraged. My friends were enraged. Generally this is not a good state for people to make important decisions, so I walled her in and walked off. I left it down to them what they did with her.
She died that day. We were all banned from Silverbrand, Bane, Grey Rose and Varshikar. Aeridor even served his jail time. We all refused to go down without a fight. Indeed, I summoned flames over town, a foolish Grey Rose member thought they were illusions and tried to put them out and died. Dom stole his key and the temple raided the Grey Rose. Dom and I went to Brágon's Shrine, since I learnt to cast portals. On the way back to a strange shortcut locked door we found to see if we could open it, we discovered it was already open. We then entered Silverbrand, looked around and noticed they were muttering in the old tongue. Dominic noted that they were going to lock us in, so I summoned a wall over the door space so the door couldn't be shut over it. We went downstairs, we were led into the prison and I put a wall over the prison entrance and teleported back to the entrance of Silverbrand with a portal. I then went back and freed the king, but this was humiliating apparently and the dwarves haven't exactly been our best friends since.
Anyhow, back in time again:
"Siltaris is dead. Trollsbane is about to become a struggle for power. Now would be the best time to take it over if we are going to. Taliss has enough support in the guard to rally a decent defense, It would be advisable to take Trollsbane before then, and have Taliss arrested for treason. Also, We'll need a "Governor" who we can post in Trollsbane, One who is completely loyal to Caelum, But preferably not a known member." - I will keep the member's name secret unless he wants to reveal who he is. In fact, he was our spy, working in Troll's Bane. The one who rallied the TB troops. The one that disorganised them so when we arrived their troops were all over the place. We crushed them with our surprise portal attack, mage support and extremely strong fighters, along with The Temple who quickly came together and worked as allies with us. We sat in the manor in Caelum, giving them time to prepare.
Note: I have no idea when the manor was built. It was long ago. ((Jan 07 the first floor was built)).
I also have no idea when the other buildings were built. But uh.. they were less time ago (the manor was there for aeons), but they've been there quite a substantial amount of time now.
We've formed several alliance treaties with various places over time but I can't tell you much about those because of the loopholes.
I could go into the history of people trying to take over Caelum but I'd rather not relive those memories.
So I leave you with all of the members of Caelum since it became Caelum (rather than The Caelum Union):
Aerandi Cuthalion
Aeridor Isthil
Alli Zelos
Amras Seregon
Ariana Deschanel
Avalyon el'Hattarr
Cawdor
Christopher Rigden
Dominic Fisher
Drex Thaendrak
Duchan An Infarion
Edgtho Hlayn
Edward Cromwell
Evan Ross
Faladron
Fooser
Fredrik Dunk
Hazral Thorison

Kevin Lightdot
Magnus Magnol
Marcho Fallohide
Merrilyn Ferly
Peter Kelly
Raban Bright
Roland Ross
Silas Farron
Taeryon Silverlight
Tann Vyri

And I must thank all of them, particularly Faladron, Cawdor and Dominic.
Also Dusty, Aokan and everyone else who's helped us over the years. Caelum shows the power of persistance, YR maps and meeting someone who's willing to sit for days on end crafting for you.

I am a writer! I deal more in children's rhymes and tales, but currently I am writing reflective studies on some of the inhabitants of Gobaith...perhaps I will send a copy when and if I ever finish! I have just finished my latest tale to any who may be interested. Please do send a reply to Greenbriar, in which I newly reside!
High regards and thankyou's,
