I think I understand. You are saying that sickles should break in the same way as axes and shovels. I dont think they should. A shovel is used on rocky ground and so breaks sometimes. I've never had a shovel break digging sand. An axe is used to fell tall trees same logic. A sickle is used to cut soft plant tissue so shouldn't break, though perhaps it should need sharpening occasionally. Sorry if I missed your point.

An informed source once told me that sickles in fact DO break, just without any message. I've never encountered this myself, though.
