Right people i got 2 thought about using up "Useless weapons"
First how about being able to smelt the weapons back down (obviously not getting all the bars back, maybe 1 for swords/daggers and 2 for shields/armor/2 handed swords etc) so you can then put them to use making another ware
Or...
how about having a sharpening tool/skill so you can go to a machine (Similar looking to the gem grinder) so you can sharpen (make the weapon go from average-quite good but loosing a point of durability) and re-use weapons
First thing i support.
Second is kinda useless...
You repair it ->durability up, quality down
And now you want ->quality up, durability down
So...if your "skill" would be good enough in both you could use one weapon forever. Repair, sharpen, repair, until its excellent.

This is not good. Equipment comes and goes.
Then i guess it would have to be on limited items such as serinjah swords and no magical ones.
and as you said using it forever but i have a knife that my dad gave to me (which his dad give to him) which is about 40 years old and still sharp today.
1. First one has been proposed many times. It has always been shot down because of - *Make sword* *gain skill* *melt sword* *make sword* which gives you a lot of extra materials
2. Second one makes not much sense, a good sword is a balanced one, not one which is sharp. You can currently repair items to do the opposite.

In the future, NPCs will buy most things, so you can sell useless weapons instead.

No, smith would still run around and repair weapons.
The carpenters would loose work, cause their handles are not needed anymore (noone needs new weapons, when one lasts 4ever)
